STR8 FRESH FLICKS: KELLY & LETOYA LUCKETT CALL A TRUCE!

Now that she’s cut all ties with PaPa Knowles and her friendship with Beyonce is pretty much non-existent, Kelly Rowland is trying to do her own thing. And last night that’s exactly what she did! Kelly attended E!’s 20th Birthday bash at The London Hotel in West Hollywood, CA and to my surprise she posed for the photogs with ex-friend and former Destiny’s Child member LeToya Luckett on the red carpet. Other party attendees included Ne-Yo, cornball Nick Cannon, the Kardashian clan, Tyrese and a few other celebs.

So could this be the start of a revived friendship or were they just frontin’ for the cameras?! Although, Kelly keeps frontin’ she like and Beyonce are still BFF’s, I’m pretty sure she would’ve never spoken to LeToya let alone take a pic with her if Bey was still in the picture. #Imjustsayin

LETOYA LUCKETT TALKS DESTINY’S CHILD & MATT KEMP WITH HONEYMAG

In her debut blog on HoneyMag.com, singer Letoya Luckett kicked things off right by talking about her situation with Destiny’s Child, setting the record straight about her and Rihanna’s current boo Matt Kemp and a few other things. Check out the excerpts below:

On being axed out of Destiny Child’s:

“I wasn’t upset about losing a chance to go to the Grammy’s or any celebrity perks. It was the loss of the friendship that was difficult. That was the hardest part of the separation. These girls [Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson] were my friends from elementary school. We went to church together, we hung out together.”

On Matt Kemp rumors:

“The experience taught me about how things can be manipulated in the public. Like with the situation with Matt Kemp. I think the blogs kind of created the whole relationship. We were friends – there was nothing more to it. When we went out, a lot of times we had lots of other mutual friends there, but people would single us out. I definitely thought he was cute, but it was never anything like that. They had it on blogs that we were dating and this happened and that happened – but that’s not it.”

LeToya definitely could’ve went in on her ex-pals, but she’s better than that. It’s pretty sad that they all no longer speak ’cause they grew up together. It’s not like they were just random girls that were put in a group together. Hopefully, these ladies can look past the Destiny’s Child drama and work on their friendship. Wouldn’t a collabo with the original members of Destiny’s Child be dope? While, I highly doubt that’s ever gonna happen…a girl can dream right?

RIHANNA’S NEW BOO HAS SHADY PAST?…& TOP 5 REASONS WHY IT WONT LAST!

Apparently our swag princess wasn’t smart enough to have new boo’s past investigated. Sounds a bit over the top but I’m just sayin’, when you come out of a relationship where someone laid a beatdown on you and there were some red flags in the past, that she clearly opted to ignore…its just smart to do your research on the next dude who decide to kick it with. Better to be safe than sorry. Anywhoo, I digress. Turns out Ri-Ri’s boo, Matt Kemp, has a shady past of his own. According to reports, LA Dodger Matt Kemp had a restraining order put out on him by his ex-girlfriend, actress Felisha Terrell. Matt’s ex says,

“He is violent and I am afraid. He repeatedly made me scared and gets in my face. He is threatening to take all the items I purchased and try to destroy my property. He brings his friends driving up and down the street to try and intimidate me. I am very fearful. He has other people calling me and stalking me.”

There’s actual filed papers, where the one-time Days of Our Lives star states: “He is violent and I am afraid.”

Not to throw shade at Rihanna’s way, but this right here is a RED FLAG!! And clearly her friends feel the same way:

“You’d think after what she went through with Chris, RiRi would be extra careful about learning the background of any man she gets close to,” one of them tells Star. “It’s almost as if she has a dark side of her own — an attraction to bad boys.”

Clearly Rihanna has a thing for these bad boys in disguise. Str8NYC.com rounded a few other reasons why the new couple just won’t last.
5. Looks too much like Chris Brown- The resemblance is pretty much evident, sure he’s taller and has got more body than Ike Jr., but he just looks a bit too much like Chris Brown. Who knows if that’ll make RiRi have flashbacks and want to snap at dude? I’m just saying…

4. Serial Dater- Wasn’t he just spotted kicking it court-side style with Texas native, Letoya Luckett…in December 2009? I’m just saying, the boy likes to play the field.
3. Ball Player- Everyone knows a man is only as faithful as his options. And when it comes it athletes, need we run the list of players. It’s bad enough groupies were throwing themselves at Ike Jr., when they were together…imagine a baseball player. That’s just too much stress to deal with. And ya know Rihanna got some insecurity issues. Remember she went ballistic when she discovered text messages from another chick on Ike Jr.’s phone.

2. Too fast, too soon- Sure both Matt & Rihanna are rich and have money coming out the A$$ but it’s a bit too soon to be running off on long-week getaways and boo loving in front of the paparazzi. When you move to fast into a relationship, it’s like money…easy come, easy go. They’re both young and there’s nothing wrong with spending time together and enjoying each other’s company…but the key is to take it SLOW! I mean seriously, how well do they really know each other to be going trips to Cabo, romping in the pool and ass-groping.
1. Young, Black, Rich- Call me a hater, but when you’re this young, this FLY/HOT, and this wealthy, relationships come and go. Right now, Rihanna is the flavor of the month and so is Matt. Not to mention, Matt’s agent has denied the pair are even dating basically calling RiRi just a jump-off. They may not be dating, but they’re definitely f*cking!
Now I’m not saying Rihanna needs to cut him off ASAP but just be weary. And take that restraining order mentioned earlier as a sign…have fun, but be smart about it. And this goes for all ladies too! Don’t be fooled by the honeymoon stage at the beginning of a relationship, enjoy the time but also keep your eyes peeled for RED FLAGS! They’re always there, but we’re so quick to give the benefit of doubt, we consciously choose to ignore the signs. Like the NYC MTA transit system says “If you see something, say something!”

Check out LeToya Luckett’s new video for her second single “Regret” featuring Ludacris off her latest album Lady Love. Word is Capitol Records is doing LeToya dirty as they’ve refused to run any further promo for her album which came in at No. 12 on Billboard’s Hot 200. Apparently, this has also prevented the official remix of “Regret” from being released. There’s also talk that the only reason why the video for “Regret” was made is primarily due to the fact that fans petitioned Capitol Records. Damn!

I really want to see LeToya do her thing in the biz. First PaPa Knowles and Beyonce tried to kill her career and now her own record label isn’t supporting her. WTF?!

LETOYA LUCKETT STRIVES TO MAKE A NAME FOR HERSELF

LeToya Luckett hasn’t been Destiny’s stepchild for years and after proving she had a chance at a solo career with her debut single and self-titled album which both hit No. 1 on the charts three years ago—LeToya doesn’t want to be labeled as the former member of Destiny’s Child anymore, she wants people to call her by her own name. She tells the Columbus Dispatch,

“I am now formerly the former member of Destiny’s Child. We are now LeToya Luckett. That’s what we’ve been, and that’s what we will continue to say.”

When asked if she feels she’s officially ventured away from her Destiny’s Child past, she says.

“I feel that way now, yes. I think that people are now starting to see who I am as an artist and get to know LeToya Luckett and not so much put all the focus on “former member of.”

While it’s quite evident that LeToya’s relationship with former bandmates Beyonce and Kelly is nowhere near how it used to during their early days, she insists that when they do run into each other “it’s very cordial”.

LETOYA LUCKETT TALKS WEAK PROMOTION FOR “LADY LOVE”

Letoya sounds grateful for getting another chance in music but by the sound of her voice the weak promotion of “Lady Love” got her just a tad bit nervous.
Word is Lady Love will move between 25,000-30,000 copies- less than half of what her debut album Letoya moved. The singer also will not take the #1 spot as she did with her debut. However, she will land somewhere in the top 10.
And as far as “not getting the promotion or as much push as other artists get”…umm, was that a jab at the woman of the year, Beyonce? Let me stop…lol.
