The RnB trio parted ways back in 2005 to pursue solo careers and as planned Beyonce was the most successful. Surely Kelly & Michelle would be down for a reunion, but will Beyonce? Will Jay-Z? Will Matthew? Time will tell….

Former Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams is currently starring in the West End production of “Chicago” in the United Kingdom, although she was originally booked to appear in the show till August 22^nd, she has now extended her appearance in the show till September 12^th. Back in July, Michelle was forced to turn away from the front row during one of her performances after she spotted a couple getting busy. She says,

“There was this woman sat there with her arm over the chair getting her kicks in the front row with her boyfriend! They were asked to leave but they had the nerve to ask for a refund!”

If you’re expecting Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle to reunite in the near future, then you’ve got another thing coming! According to Kelly, there will be no Destiny’s Child reunion and she wishes people would stop worrying about it. She tells PopEater,

“There is no Destiny’s Child album in the works. None of us have talked about an album or anything.”

She adds,

“And until we do, no one else should worry about it. Simmer down now!”

Is is just me or is Kelly getting a bit sassy?!

Michelle Williams is tired of being perceived as the quiet and talentless member of Destiny’s Child. Apparently, Michelle has jumped on the acting bandwagon and has scored the role of Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago at Cambridge Theater in London. However, Michelle is really adamant about putting her DC3 days behind her and wants the world to realize that she’s a force to be reckoned with. She says,

“I’m a humble, down-to-earth, funny, smart, young lady. I didn’t just want to be a pop star, thinking she could act. I wanted to be taken seriously. I don’t want you to see Michelle from Destiny’s Child when I’m on stage. I want you to see Roxie Hart. I don’t want anyone thinking, ‘she got the role because she was in the group’. No! I actually had to go and audition. They didn’t just give it to me, so I’m happy that I did go for it.”

As for her DC3 days, Michelle understands that nothing lasts forever and she insists that she’s able to cope with not being in a group anymore.

“You know, some things come to an end,” she shrugs “I don’t take anything too seriously. If I took it so seriously, I’d be in a hospital somewhere not knowing how to deal with not being in a group anymore. But I still want to be able to work in the music industry, but with integrity. And I know that can exist.” Adding, “I just want to let people know that I’m out here doing my thing, in the way that I want to do it. I love to sing and I want people to know me for my music. But at the same time, you do have to get out there to build your profile. You know, if it’s not how I want to do it, I don’t do it. I think I’ve worked hard enough to say that.”

Michelle is also longing for a companion and wants to pop out some babies by age 32. She says,

“You travel a lot, you do so much and it’s like, ‘who do I have to share with?’” she asks. “I go home, I’m by myself. I think I can handle a relationship. I would like someone who does what they do, and when they come home, they’re themselves. I want to have children by the time I’m 32 so that when I’m 50 they’ll be 18, meaning they’ll be out the house. When I’m 50 I want the house to me and my husband, ok?”

Mr. College Dropout, Kanye West gave a special treat to deserving students in his hometown of Chicago, IL. Kanye performed for free yesterday at The Chicago Theatre for 3,000 Chicago Public School students who improved their grades and attendance. The event was sponsored by The Kanye West Foundation, an organization created by his late mother Donda West, whose goal is to decrease dropout rates and improve literacy. Although Kanye was there to encourage kids to stay in school, he kept it real by telling students that in today’s “recession world” college isn’t necessarily for everyone. His message to students:

“Take every opportunity you have to make your life as successful as possible.” Adding, “If you have the opportunity to skip that step…maybe you know someone who works in the business you want to work in, not necessarily music and you can actually get in and start making money in this real word, recession world…I’m going to sit up here at this convention and tell you go and get the job.”

I commend Kanye for working on keeping his mother’s vision alive, but at the same token it’s pretty sad that today’s generation seems to only focus on their education if they’re receiving some form of compensation. What ever happened to getting good grades because it’s expected of you?!
