So earlier this week YRB’s own Justin Holmes invited me to tag along with him to see The Dream, Nina Sky, & Melanie Fiona perform at BB Kings in NYC. The showcase didn’t kick off ’till 10:30pm. Unfortunately I only stayed long enough to catch Melanie Fiona & Nina Sky…the Dream was running on BP time and so I bounced. There were many folks in the building including former 106 & Park host, Free, Thomas Jones, DJ Clue, DJ Drama, and many others. Despite missing the Radio Killah, I got the chance to discover some new talent Ms. Melanie Fiona, who definitely impressed me! To quote homie Justin, Melanie Fiona is “like the love child of Amy Winehouse and Lauryn Hill.”
