It’s official! Kanye West and Alexis Phifer called off their engagement. Kanye West’s fiancée of 18 months, Lex, confirms the breakup to People.com.

“It’s always sad when things like this end, and we remain friends,” Phifer reportedly told People.com. “I wish him the best in his future and all of his endeavors. He’s one of the most talented people I’ve ever met.”

The designer ex-girlfriend was spotted on the red carpet sans her engagement ring & Kanye at an “Evenings in Vogue” event on last Thursday night in New York. Totally missed that one!
A snitch from Kanye’s camp claims the couple have been pretty rocky for a minute…

“They’d been having problems. Kanye is really focused on his show; he’s putting everything into the show right now. Alexis is a nice girl, but Kanye has been going through a rough time. They hit a rough patch and for now they’ve split.”

Supposedly Kanye has been so focused on the “Glow in the Dark” tour, his relationship with Alexis has taken a backseat. And not to mentioned the death of his mother is weighing heavy on Mr. West. Hopefully it was an amicable break-up…nobody said dealing with a rapper is easy- with all the shows and hoes it can definitely break a relationship. And lets not even talk about his fetish with big tatas and porn…that alone can make a chick feel a bit salty.
