Rapper/producer Timbaland has a simple message for the media–stay out of his damn business! He recently chopped it up with MTV News and explained how gossip almost ruined his relationship with Jay-Z and his discontent with how the media overtly dramatized Tiger Woods’ cheating scandal.
“The world needs to check themselves. Leave them people alone. Leave me alone. I don’t have beef with nobody. I have real friendships, and real friendships are meant to not always be on the right page, if you are real friends with somebody. OK, America? Don’t get in my personal life. I have too much money, I will find you. … Leave me alone. If you don’t know about Tim Mosley, don’t talk about Tim Mosely. All them Facebooks, Twitter, whatever, whatever, don’t be talking. All that talking behind people’s back … I’m a grown man. I ain’t got time for all that you say, she say. C’mon, man. Stay outta people’s business and just love music.” Adding, “Get back to enjoying the music. Get off of the Internet and enjoy the music. Ride in your car, run on your treadmill, put Walkmans on, not always your iPod. Realize what you are blessed with. … Get back to appreciation.”

Word is the video was directed by Paul “Coy” Allen who also worked on Timbaland’s “Morning After Dark” and “Say Something” videos. No word on when the video will premiere.

]]>With the recent release of his new album Shock Value II, it’s pretty evident that rapper/producer extraordinaire Timbaland is so over Hip-hop. Timbaland recently chopped it up with MTV and revealed that he’s done with the Hip-hop genre and you can pretty much tell he’s serious too–with collabos on his new album from Katy Perry to even Miley Cyrus…you get the point. He says,
“I was done with hip-hop a long time ago. Once my generation left, I left. I do it, but there’s nobody from my generation besides Jay who’s doing it. I look at Lil Wayne as being from my generation. Some people are still acceptable. Kanye is acceptable from my generation.” Adding, “It’s just not the same. By it not being the same, I kind of fade to black. I did music [on this album] that fits where I was going to in my age bracket. ‘What does Tim listen to in his car all the time?’ I love ’80s music. So how do I infuse ’80s with modern-day music? You Timbo the King, you gotta figure it out. I figured it out a couple of years ago with Nelly [Furtado] and Justin and myself. We had a tremendous run. I think it was good for me to do it that, because some people would say ‘Tim is cold.’ The same people who smile in my face would be the same ones to talk behind my back. But I got this run, I’m not gonna stop until I wanna stop.”
Looks like Timbo has found his niche and it just so happens to be that’s where the money is. But, I gotta admit I do miss the old Timbaland especially during his Magoo, Missy, Aaliyah and Genuwine days…they made magic everytime they stepped in the booth.

Check out Timbaland’s new video for his single “Say Something” featuring actor-turned-rapper Drake off his newly released album Shock Value II. I love that the video actually makes sense! It has a freakin’ storyline…something most music videos nowadays are lacking.
ON DECK or OFF DECK?!
]]>It appears Timbaland doesn’t want his name to be attached to a woman beater. Word is the producer/rapper officially dropped Chris Brown from a track on his new album, Shock Value II. A snitch close to Chris revealed to TMZ, that Chris’s vocals were removed from a track called “The One I Love” because of the “drama” surrounding him. Timbaland’s manager, Marcus Spence did confirm that Chris was dropped from the track, however it was more so a “creative decision for both parties” adding, “There’s nothing against Chris. We love Chris.” But, according to rapper D.O.E who is featured on the track, the song was originally called “Maniac”, but was subsequently changed because “some people” didn’t think it would be a good idea to attach a woman beater Chris to a song with such a striking title.
Timbaland and Chris will be battling each other on the charts, as their albums are set to drop on the same day, December 8th. Wow!
