NEW VIDEO: T-PAIN- “REVERSE COWGIRL” http://str8nyc.com/2010/03/18/new-video-t-pain-reverse-cowgirl/ http://str8nyc.com/2010/03/18/new-video-t-pain-reverse-cowgirl/#comments Thu, 18 Mar 2010 17:13:54 +0000 LexAve http://str8nyc.com/?p=35269 Tweet

Mr. Teddy Pen Her Ass is back with “Reverse Cowgirl“…the song is rather blah, yet the visuals in the video are sick. This joint definitely doesn’t match up to T-Pain’s older hits. So is it time for T-Pain to hang the mic?

Auto-tune is still alive…

Sidebar: What’s with the rodeo references? That’s so Ginuwine circa 1996!

BET ENLISTS DIDDY, PHARRELL, QUEEN LATIFAH & MORE TO HELP HAITI http://str8nyc.com/2010/02/02/bet-enlists-diddy-pharrell-queen-latifah-more-to-help-haiti/ http://str8nyc.com/2010/02/02/bet-enlists-diddy-pharrell-queen-latifah-more-to-help-haiti/#comments Tue, 02 Feb 2010 15:28:16 +0000 J'More http://str8nyc.com/?p=32552 Tweet

Looks like BET took note from MTV’s successful “Hope For Haiti Now” telethon which helped raise over $58 million– sparking the network to create its own telethon titled “SOS Saving Ourselves—Help for Haiti” to be hosted by Queen Latifah, Diddy and Pharrell Williams. The two hour event will take place at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami and will air on BET,  Centric, MTV and VH1 on Friday, February 5th at 8 pm ET.

“Words cannot express how I felt watching the catastrophic events unfold in Haiti. I believe it is our duty to come together and help our brothers and sisters in Haiti, especially now, in their greatest hour of need. I have joined forces with Queen Latifah, Pharrell, BET and several of the biggest names in music today to raise funds for the Haiti Relief efforts. Together we can make a difference,” says Diddy.

A string of artists including Ne-Yo, Keri Hilson, Chris Brown, Jazmine Sullivan, Akon, Ludacris, Mary J. Blige, Robin Thicke, Monica, Busta Rhymes, India Arie, Kirk Franklin, Nas and Damian Marley are set to hit the stage for this special event. In addition to musical performances, Mr. “Panty Dropper”  aka Trey Songz, Common, David Banner, Missy Elliott, Chrisette Michelle, Jeremih, The Dream, Jason Derulo, T-Pain, Sean Kingston and more will also make appearances.

“The devastation that has occurred in Haiti has broken my heart. My hope is that we can raise enough money to sustain a few of the relief organizations for quite some time as there is a lot of work to be done over there,” said Pharrell Williams. “The goal is not only to bring immediate relief to Haiti but to also rebuild the country and help the country move forward.”

Proceeds from the event will go to Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti, CARE, Project MediShare and Children’s Safe Drinking Water.

NEW VIDEO: RICK ROSS ft. T-PAIN & PUSHA T- “MAYBACH MUSIC 2.5″ http://str8nyc.com/2010/01/07/new-video-rick-ross-ft-t-pain-pusha-t-maybach-music-2-5/ http://str8nyc.com/2010/01/07/new-video-rick-ross-ft-t-pain-pusha-t-maybach-music-2-5/#comments Thu, 07 Jan 2010 18:23:59 +0000 J'More http://str8nyc.com/?p=31369 Tweet

Here’s Officer Ricky’s new video for “Maybach Music 2.5″ featuring T-Pain and Pusha T (The Clipse), the remix to “Maybach Music Part 2″ which appears on his latest album Deeper Than Rap. Apparently, Ricky is so infatuated with Maybach’s that he’s dropping a “Maybach Music Part 3″. Now that’s just Maybach Music overload if ya ask me. We’re surprised Maybach hasn’t slapped his ass with a lawsuit for stealing their logo and not to mention dropping their name in everything he does–including naming his record label after the automaker. The guy doesn’t even have an endorsement deal with them. So why is he riding them so hard?

T Pain | MySpace Music Videos

Check out T-Pain’s video for his single “Take Your Shirt Off” off his upcoming album RevolveR. The King of Auto-Tune went down south, Tallahassee, FL to be exact to shoot the video which features appearances by funkadelic George Clinton, Petey Pablo, Rick Ross, Sophia Fresh and the resurrection of “The Big Ass Chain”. I gotta admit I love the video, however in no way am I condoning folks taking their shirts off!

Now answer this…is Auto-Tune really dead?

t-pain_jay_z

It was only a matter of time until T-Pain began to publicly display his saltiness to Jay-Z’s “DOA” sentiments. Teddy P was out performing at REHAB Labor Day Weekend ’09 where he was caught on live on stage “F**k Jay-Z” & “Jay-Z sucks!” You can clearly hear him say “I think if anything is dead, it should be him.” He goes into a bit of song then continues the rant for a minute then back to his coonin’…WOW! Highly doubt Hov will waste his time on Teddy’s clown ass, he’s got bigger & greater things to worry about…Blueprint 3 drops today! Oh Yeah!

THINGS THEY SAY: JAMIE FOXX ON THE IMPORTANCE OF AUTO-TUNE http://str8nyc.com/2009/07/28/things-they-say-jamie-foxx-on-the-importance-of-auto-tune/ http://str8nyc.com/2009/07/28/things-they-say-jamie-foxx-on-the-importance-of-auto-tune/#comments Tue, 28 Jul 2009 15:02:40 +0000 J'More http://str8nyc.com/?p=21569 Tweet

jamiefoxx

When it comes to Auto-Tune singer/actor Jamie Foxx has no complaints. His chart topping hit “Blame It” is heavily infused with the computer program as well as T-Pain’s voice.  While other people knock Auto-Tune, Jamie reveals that he was actually advised to use the program on his album if he didn’t want it to flop and gives his take on why “Blame It” is such a hit. He says,

“My music guy said, ‘If you don’t do it, your R&B album will be in the grocery store in that little bin with the nail clippers and the flip-flops’.”

The reason Jamie thinks “Blame It” became so popular:

He adds,

It’s a combination of things. Where we are in music today with the Auto-Tune, I think we captured the Auto-Tune the best in a long while — since T-Pain. And then having T-Pain on the song. Then the song says something that people have said throughout the years, ‘Man, I think I had one too many’. And then Ron Howard being in the video made it a pop song. The next thing you know it caught fire.
