Earlier this month, the king of R&B R. Kelly responded to Trey Songz’ “D.O.A Kellz” diss calling the young’n a fly. Well, Mr. “I Invented Sex” recently stopped by MTV and insisted contrary to popular belief  that he isn’t beefing with the R&B veteran.

“It wasn’t a beef,” Trey smiled. “It was me telling R. Kelly to take the damn Auto-Tune off his voice, which he did on his album. His album is good.”

I’m not buying it Trey! He knew damn well what he was trying to accomplish when he penned the track.

In a recent interview with USA Today, singer/songwriter and now Grammy Nominee, Keri Hilson talks collaborating with other artists including little girl lover R. Kelly and woman beater Chris Brown. While other artists might have had strong reservations about working with those two, Keri insists that she didn’t even think twice. She says,

“You know, people ask me, was I leery to work again with Chris Brown? Or was I leery to work with R. Kelly? No, not at all. R. Kelly is a legend. To be able to sustain in this business, in this climate, for two decades is amazing. I strive for that. They were in a position where easily they could have hidden or just gave up. That goes to say how strong their passion is for this.”

I guess at the end of the day it’s all about crankin’ out those hits and seeing past one’s personal problems.

Now we here at Str8NYC don’t support R.Kelly in any way (say what you want!) but this video was just too hilarious to pass up. The man is a freaking walking contradiction. He claims not to be interested in other people’s opinions (by people we’re sure he mean Trey Songz) and claims that an opinion should be constructive…but then finishes off by saying “Elephants don’t swat flies!” Kellz, tells why you really mad?!


Oh yeah, and in case you missed it…Trey Songz did put out a Kellz diss song a while back, D.O.A. (Kellz diss)


These RnB dudes need to lay off Fifty’s Vitamin Water…beefn’ ain’t ya styles.
