Yesterday Chris Brown stopped by BET’s “106 & Park” to discuss his BET Awards Michael Jackson tribute, the rumored tour with Usher and to teach his fans how to dougie. The ladies in the audience went bananas! Cue the clip…

When Rosci & Terrence asked him about his MJ BET tribute, CB said the following:

“A lot of people don’t know, I was going to see Michael Jackson the day he died. I was on my way to the Staples Center that day,” Brown told an overly excited crowd of weeping, mostly female fans. “When I heard ‘Man In The Mirror,’ it just touched me. It wasn’t fake. I know people were trying to put extras on it, but everything was genuine. That was my ultimate apology, hands down.”

When asked about the tour with Usher, Brown said it might happen at some point, but for now he wants to focus on his own career.

“At first we were talking about it, but maybe in the future. For now, just doing the Chris Breezy thing,” he said, adding that the video to his “Matrix” track will be released after his upcoming “Takers” flick, which hits theaters this Friday (Aug. 27). “It’s a five to six-minute short film,” he revealed about the clip.

Is it me or is Chris Brown looking a bit overgrown in that horrid outfit…not to mention that stupid Dougie dance. C’mon man!

STR8 TALK: WILL CHRIS BROWN’S TEARS STRIKE A STRONG COMEBACK?! http://str8nyc.com/2010/06/28/str8-talk-will-chris-browns-tears-strike-a-strong-comeback/ http://str8nyc.com/2010/06/28/str8-talk-will-chris-browns-tears-strike-a-strong-comeback/#comments Mon, 28 Jun 2010 14:40:58 +0000 LexAve http://str8nyc.com/?p=40301 Tweet

While everyone continues to talk about Chris Brown’s on stage meltdown during his Michael Jackson tribute at 2010 BET Awards singing “Man in The Mirror”, we’re gonna address just in fact if Chris Brown is due for a comeback. Ever since he laid that midnight beatdown on swag princess Rihanna, Chris Brown has struggled to get his career back but last night he’s amazing show stopping performance of Michael Jackson’s “Remember The Time” and “Billie Jean” solidified his talents and #teambreezy was in full effect.

Granted CB has engaged in numerous douche bag antics both via twitter and in interviews with the media, but last night BET gave the fallen star the perfect platform to demonstrate his emotion and albeit somewhat dramatic choked up performance. But is it a coincidence Chris Brown, nearly a year later, finally breaks down on stage during an award show, during an MJ tribute, and to the song “Man In The Mirror”. How fitting?! Could it be Chris Brown was overcome by the powerful lyrics of MJ’s “Man In The Mirror”:

I’m starting with the man in the mirror
I’m asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change

Could it be Chris Brown was so struck and saddened by Michael’s death? or Did Chris Brown make it all about himself and his issues and not about MJ? Was it genuine or pure PR stunt? We can’t really say…but Chris Brown did have a few words to share when he accepted his award for BET’s Fandemonium award: “I let you all down before but I won’t do it again,” he said. “I promise you.”

Whatever you may think of Chris Brown’s breakdown, that’s all subjective but one thing is for certain…THAT BOY CAN DANCE!

Here’s what you missed:

Is this what America’s been waiting for…Chris Brown finally sobbing and crying on stage? Will this moment catapult him back into the spotlight and stardom?…not that he ever lost it, but more like in good graces with the public. Maybe, just maybe. Is this all what Tiger Woods and all the other fallen celebrities need to do…experience a full blown melt down?

TAMEKA FOSTER HAS USHER THINKING TWICE ABOUT TYING THE KNOT…AGAIN! http://str8nyc.com/2010/03/29/tameka-foster-has-usher-thinking-twice-about-tying-the-knot-again/ http://str8nyc.com/2010/03/29/tameka-foster-has-usher-thinking-twice-about-tying-the-knot-again/#comments Mon, 29 Mar 2010 20:17:38 +0000 J'More http://str8nyc.com/?p=35783 Tweet

Gearing up for the release of his new album Raymond vs. Raymond, Usher opened up in a sit-down interview with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts about the public’s perception of him, his failed marriage to Tameka Foster, why he let his momager go and so much more. After being married to Tameka’s crazy a$$, Usher makes it clear that he’s not wifing up another chick up anytime soon. When asked if he’d ever get married again, he responded,

“I want to hold my horses. Adding, “I’m 31. Let me just take my time. I have two beautiful children. And managing the process of it, I want to be comfortable. You know, I’m not rushing, you know, to get old. I’m young.”

Usher’s marriage to Tameka is a perfect example of what happens when you follow your heart and not your brain. Hell, mama dearest warned him about shorty and he didn’t listen. Now look at him he’s singing about signing those papers…

Oh yeah, Raymond vs Raymond drops tomorrow. Will you cop it?!

GREAT 52ND ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARD PERFORMANCE MOMENTS… http://str8nyc.com/2010/02/01/great-52nd-annual-grammy-award-performance-moments/ http://str8nyc.com/2010/02/01/great-52nd-annual-grammy-award-performance-moments/#comments Tue, 02 Feb 2010 04:44:27 +0000 LexAve http://str8nyc.com/?p=32486 Tweet

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards went down last night. Lady Gaga kicked things off with stellar performance alongside Sir Elton John. Yes, her fashion choices are questionable but underneath all that HAM she’s got real talent…at least I think so.

Beyonce was the big winner of the night, taking away a total of 6 Grammy awards…making Grammy history, first woman to win so many grammy’s in one night. She won big but her performance was rather blah…she performed “If I Were A Boy” with military dudes as props. In between lyrics Beyonce did her rendition of Alanis Morisette’s “You Oughtta Know”….it was OK! Aside from that, Beyonce looked GORGEOUS! She changed her outfit about 4 times and each of delivered…POW!

This picture is too cute…kind of like a glimpse into the future of a great family portrait.

Peep Beyonce’s acceptance speech…that was a weird reaction from Jay-Z, huh?

The twitter folks lost it when this happened…

Pink killed it…hands down the BEST performance of NIGHT! With the cirque du soleil, the singing, and dripping wet, guaranteed no one else in that room could do this… Here’s a backshot…

Michael Jackson’s kids came in and shut it down.

Shortly after Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion, Usher, Smokey Robinson & Carrie Underwood paid tribute to Michael Jackson. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to enjoy the performance because my stupid 3-D glasses I saved from “Avatar” 3-D flick failed me. So I chuck’d them across the room…p-off’d!

Worst performance of the night…pure embarrassment.

Black Eyed Peas shut it down with their futuristic performance…robots, metal apparel, and bunch of BS is the future…REALLY?!

Anyone who knows me, knows I’m huge Maxwell stan! So this plug goes without saying…

And yes the Grammy’s played Hip-Hop big time, but Lil’ Wayne, Drake & Eminem killed their “Forever ” performance…except extra long censoring thanks to CBS, WTF?!

R. KELLY WANTS MICHAEL JACKSON TO PAY UP! http://str8nyc.com/2010/02/01/r-kelly-wants-michael-jackson-to-pay-up/ http://str8nyc.com/2010/02/01/r-kelly-wants-michael-jackson-to-pay-up/#comments Mon, 01 Feb 2010 23:12:58 +0000 J'More http://str8nyc.com/?p=32464 Tweet

Poor Michael Jackson can’t even rest in peace! And now that the “King of Pop” is worth more dead than he was alive everyone is coming out the woodworks including “Mr. Piss On You”, R. Kelly to get their bread. According to TMZ, R. Kelly claims that Michael never gave him a penny for using “Ignition” in his “Michael Jackson’s Private Home Movies” and he’s asking for $3,000 in royalties. Ever since Michael died last June, his estate has been hit with over $20 million in legal claims. Got damn!

Hmm…we wonder how many of those claims are actually valid.

50 CENT THINKS HE’LL BE APPRECIATED WHEN HE’S R.I.P. http://str8nyc.com/2009/12/16/50-cent-thinks-hell-be-appreciated-when-hes-r-i-p/ http://str8nyc.com/2009/12/16/50-cent-thinks-hell-be-appreciated-when-hes-r-i-p/#comments Wed, 16 Dec 2009 16:50:53 +0000 J'More http://str8nyc.com/?p=30029 Tweet

Queens rapper 50 Cent is so sure that when he’s dead and long gone that he will be more famous, sort of like Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley who are breaking records in their posthumous careers. 50 has been nominated 13 times for a Grammy Award, but has yet to take one home and most recently expressed his discontent. Well, 50 claims he hasn’t received the critical acclaim that he deserves and believes that his music will only be appreciated when he’s six feet under. Really?! He says,

“As an artist you’re greater in your absence than in your presence. Everyone liked Michael Jackson more the week after he passed away than the week before. Maybe they’ll like me more when I’m gone. I’d definitely like to be remembered as a great artist.”

I highly doubt that 50′s posthumous career will take off like MJ’s. Michael Jackson is a legend, 50′s just another rapper. But, hey that’s just my opinion.

Let me get this straight…so your mega-star brother dies and you run off and get a reality show. Really?

Wonder how Janet feels about this mess?!

I’m convinced Michael’s death was all a plot to generate more money for his has-been siblings. When it comes to money…somebody’s gotta lose.
