This past Saturday Kid Cudi continued his nationwide Cud Life Tour with a stop in Columbia, Maryland at the Merriweather Post Pavilion. Performing in front of a crowd of over 7,000 the Cudder killed yet another show that had his fans gleefully singing along and screaming for encore after encore as the outdoor venue shook with energy. Chip Tha Ripper, Rage Cage and DJ SYLO joined Cudi for a line up that was a mix of electro, rock and hip hop. STR8NYC was lucky enough to get an exclusive on the scene thanks to the DMV DJ, SYLO (Sort Your Life Out), who opened up the show. Check it out below:
SYLO rocked the from start to finish with a mixture of feel good, hip hop, funk and dubstep that had people grooving one second and bouncing the next. He finished it off with a plank as Kreayshawn blasted in the background – epic.
Chip came out next for a set that deaded the crowd. While the Cleveland rapper has bars and deserves respect for discovering Cudi in the first place, he got no love from the crowd. He needs more energy when he performs for fans that aren’t already familiar with his tracks.
Coming out to RevOfEv Cudi had the crowd bobbing to his unique brand of lone ranger hip hop. With a set list that spanned his entire discography from A Kid Named Cudi to Man on the Moon II, he gave the audience a taste of his evolution as an artist.

]]>It looks like someone need to be added to the Celebrity Rehab list. In this hilarious clip, a totally trashed Kid Cudi can be viewed being carried/dragged/schlopped back to his car, where he is inserted in the back seat and then neatly folded in half — no kidding!! Kid Cudi is really taking his newfound persona as a rapper turned rocker a bit too literal. Chill homey!
In the October/November issue of Complex magazine, rapper Kid Cudi kept it really funky in his interview when discussing his dislike for D.C. rapper Wale. According to Cudi, he doesn’t have any beef with Wale, but he just doesn’t like dude’s vibe. Check out what he had to say…
Complex: Where did the whole attitude shift towards Wale stem from?
Kid Cudi: I really don’t understand what’s up with this guy, but he’s just somebody I don’t click with anymore. I started making changes in my life and started to realize positive energy around me, and he never really had a good energy. I never felt like he wanted to see me prosper, it was just one of those niggas that was envious rather than happy for a nigga. I could be reading it wrong, but I’m not making beef and rearranging my life. It’s pretty obvious he feels some type of way about it. I’m not into peer mediation and working things out, I’m just trying to provide for my daughter and my family and making music for my fans. I vibe with certain people and some people I don’t.
Complex: Last September you shot a page for GQ’s Man of the Year issue with him and Drake; was everything cool then?
Kid Cudi: The whole time me and him and Drake were doing the GQ shoot,Wale was bitching and being aggravated that clothes weren’t in his size, just really not cooperating and being difficult, and just being a diva. The photographer was like, “Wale, c’mon, smile a bit” and he was like, “Man, I don’t smile, let these other guys smile.” I was like, what kind of shit is that? In my head I’m thinking “man, this is GQ. If these niggas want you to smile, smile. We just got picked for “Men of the Year” that shit is awesome. It’s wack to be on that shit when you’re at a photoshoot, he shouldn’t be getting all riled up. There was tension throughout the whole shoot. Me and Drake have a rapport, we’re cool. We were automatically hitting it off, and kicking it, and just Wale was not trying to be in the situation. He was trying to be too cool. He was acting like he’s too good for the situation, and that’s how he always is. He always acts like he’s bigger than what he is, and I don’t fuck with that at all.
And Kid Cudi isn’t lying…’cause according to a few snitches Wale can be an asshole!
Check out a few flicks and some footage from Kid Cudi’s dope photoshoot!
centeR> There’s about to be a load of “G.O.O.D.” music coming our way. Big Sean took it to twitter to announce that his new album Finally Famous, Kanye Wests’ Good Ass Job, and Kid Cudi’s Man on the Moon Pt.2 will all drop on September 14th.
A lot of music has been released in the past 24 hours and I am doing my absolute best in fishing through these tracks and selecting the best ones for your listening purposes. With that said, take a listen to this oh-so-cool track by Kid Cudi which is undoubtedly on my list of hot tracks. In the words of Cudi, “I can show you how to do it…no half-stepping” over here. HAHA
ON DECK or OFF DECK?!
]]>After being out of the spotlight for a hot minute, the Louis Vuitton Don is ready to make a comeback. The rapper finally came out of hiding this past weekend in NYC. According to the NY Daily News, Kanye hit up hotspot CV in the Lower East Side on Saturday night with his entourage in tow sans his bald headed wifey Amber Rose. Word is ‘Ye even gave party-goers a sneak peek of his new album–giving the DJ four tracks to spin.
]]>“Josh Hartnett and Kid Cudi were both there, and they immediately got up and started dancing,” said a snitch. “Kanye stayed with his own entourage in a corner booth, but looked pretty pleased.”
