Will all the talk of Teflon Don Rick Ross being compared to the legend Notorious B.I.G., Diddy stirred up more controversy after calling him “The Biggie of the South”. Vibe recently caught up with Fat Joe and asked him how he felt about Diddy dubbing his new client Rick Ross “The Biggie of the South”.

“He said that? I don’t know man. Diddy’s a smart guy and Rick Ross is smart guy, but I don’t think Ross wants to be Biggie. He can’t be Biggie. There’s no replacing Notorious. No disrespect to Ross’s talent though, because I think he’s one of the nicest rappers in the game. But they always compare new artists to the greats. I understand Diddy though, because I knew Biggie very well and I know Ross. They both are kind hearts and they have a similar aura and demeanor about them. They’re similar in that way.”

Seriously, what do Biggie and Rick Ross have in common other than the fact that they’re rappers who are fat and black. I guess I must be blind ’cause I don’t see see what Diddy’s talking about.

Earlier this week, MTV caught up with Bronx rapper Fat Joe who recently dropped his ninth album J.O.S.E. 2 on Tuesday and chopped it up about his goals in the music industry as it pertains to Hip-hop as well as his excitement about the album.

“My job is to make a record that is gonna stop the world from spinning. If you really wanna know what Fat Joe is after, Fat is Joe is trying to make the ultimate best record in hip-hop history that will stop Earth from rotating. I wanna make something that’s gonna make the biggest nonbeliever on the planet Earth say, ‘Oh, my God. What’s up with this dude?’ I’m after the undeniable.”

He adds,

“With me, it’s about making great music. Just to know my fans, who have been my fans forever, get to hear the new Fat Joe for me, it gets me real excited…I wanna make the people think, ‘This music is crazy. This album is crazy’ I’m just like a little kid, like I just started.”

I didn’t even know Fat Joe dropped an album. Homie seriously needs to work on promo if anything!

You never know who’s going to show up at Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert. The King of New York, Jay-Z brought the King of Pop aka Michael Jackson on stage with him back in 2001. Last year, Method Man, Akon, Jim Jones, Fat Joe, LL Cool J and Ghostface Killah took the stage surprising shocked fans. I highly doubt that this year’s concert is going to be any different ‘cause you never know what to expect at Summer Jam! This year’s line up features the Mary J. Blige, T-Pain, The Dream, Young Jeezy, Jadakiss, Elephant Man, reggae newcomers Mavado and Serani and many more.

Jadakiss recently revealed to MTV that he’s coming out on top at this year’s concert and has a few surprises in store for fans. According to Jada, he’s no longer stuck with opening for other artists, this year he’s going on much later in the show. He says,

“I always try to give one or two surprises. I know they wanna see me. I just dropped a new [album, The Last Kiss], so I gotta keep the surprise guests to a minimum. I might give you Jazmine [Sullivan]. I might give you something nice and soft and something nice and hard. It’s gonna be a good look, though. I feel real good about his one this year.”

This year’s show will be hosted by funnyman Tracy Morgan and will take place at Giants Stadium at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
