STR8 FROM THE TWEETS: WIZ KHALIFA’S “ROLLING PAPERS” RELEASE DATE

Wiz Khalifa took it to Twitter and USTREAM to announce the title of his debut album and release date, Rolling Papers dropping March 29, 2011. Per his USTREAM video guest appearances will include his homies like Curren$y Snoop Dogg, Too $hort, Rick Ross and many others. Expect to see the album artwork and tracklist real soon. Rolling papers? I guess Wiz’ recent transition from blunts to papers prompted this and we can expect to hear him bash those blunt rollers.  It really doesn’t matter, to each his/her own. 4/20 would have been a better date, but the sooner the better. I like Wiz’ smooth sultry sounds and I hope he does much more of that. Tayyyyylor Gang!
Don’t let the title fool you…just ’cause it’s Rolling Papers, doesn’t mean its all about lighting up. In a recent interview with The Source magazine, Wiz talks about the album concept.
“It’s not just the weed. The music is awesome. The music is great. Just from the beats that I pick, I’m a fan of my producers. They push me. The vibe is so positive, you can be who you want to be. The weed just goes with it. See, when I was in high school, I wasn’t in the streets. I had friends that were in the streets, but I just smoked with them. I had straight white kids that I just kicked it with and they smoked more than the kids in the streets. So I kicked it with everybody, but we were all on the same sh– mentally.”
Can’t help but wonder with huge success of “Black & Yellow”…can we expect something hot or will it flop?
