DAME DASH RESURRECTS ROC-A-FELLA + SQUASHING JAY-Z BEEF
Earlier this week, in a recent interview with MTV, Damon Dash revealed that he’s bringing Roc-A-Fella back without Jay-Z. He says,
“Def Jam or Universal bought the brand. I think the ‘beef’ [with us and Jay-Z] was that Jay made it clear he didn’t want me or Biggs to be a part of it. That’s really where it was at. Now that he doesn’t work for Def Jam anymore, he doesn’t have the right to use the name. So there’s no reason for us not to use it. It’s there, and it’s a brand that’s not being used. So I was like, ‘I’ll take it.’ It always meant something to me.” Adding, “It’s a way more positive movement,” he added about the label’s new incarnation. “It’s what I wanted Roc-A-Fella, what I thought it should be 10 years after I started it.”
And as for working with Jay-Z again, Dame has no hard feelings for his ex-homeboy/business partner.
“If Jay wanna come through and do something, he can come holla at me. I ain’t got no beefs with Jay.” “Just off the strength that it’s Roc-A-Fella, I could never tell Jay he can’t be a part of something he helped create”, he said. “So maybe it felt ridiculous that he said [me and Biggs couldn't be a part of Roc-A-Fella once we sold the company] and a Roc-A-Fella purists didn’t appreciate that. If I walked away from Roc-A-Fella, then that would be different. But the option should always be there. So the option is there for him. He helped build that. And I don’t hold grudges. I think one of the most important things in evolving is forgiveness. If he did something wrong or if I did something wrong, we’d have to forgive each other, or we’d still be children.”
The new Roc-A-Fella’s first new release will be rapper Curren$y’s Pilot Talk dropping June 15th.
I don’t know about this one y’all. Roc-A-Fella was Jay-Z, Dame, and Biggs…without the other two I don’t think it’s going to work.

Jay has his own label and I don’t think he is even concern or care if Dame is starting the roc-a-fella up again. Jay-z has gone on to the next one. Dame may need Jay-z I don’t think Jay-z needs Dame at this point. So Dame being a grown man if you want to holla at Jay-z just holla at him.
