MARY J. BLIGE “STRONGER WITH EACH TEAR” BLOCKED FROM NO. 1 SPOT…
The people have spoken, making the Queen of Hip-hop Soul’s recent release Stronger With Each Tear No. 2 on the charts. Now Mary J. Blige’s album would’ve topped the charts if this chick wasn’t in the picture.
Not only has Scottish singer Susan Boyle’s debut I Dream a Dream blocked MJB from the top spot, but she also stood in the way of Alicia Keys’ “The Element of Freedom” from climbing to No. 1 on the charts a few weeks ago as well. Anyway, MJB’s “Stronger With Each Tear” sold 330,000 its first week, becoming the singer’s third album in a row to start with more than 300,000 units.
In related news, it’s been confirmed that MJB will perform at the 36th Annual People’s Choice Awards. The 2010 People’s Choice Awards will take place January 6th at Nokia Theater and will broadcast live on CBS at 9 pm.
