AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS RECAP…

The AMA’s went down last night and we were all up on twitter giving our feedback, but in case you missed out…here’s a brief recap.
The best performances of the night were Lady Gaga, Jay-Z x Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston and Adam Lambert.

I have to admit everytime Lady Gaga is set to perform…she ALWAYS brings it! The video is hot as well as her live performance last night, you just never know what to expect with her GAGArageous antics. We luv it! From the on the point choreography, sick vocals, and breaking of glass…did we mention she set a piano on fire?!

Jay-Z & Alicia Keys got their Frank Sinatra on minus Lil’ MaMa this time around with their “Empire State of Mind”. Later on in the night Jay accepted the Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Male Artist trophy, beating out T.I. and Eminem. And during his acceptance speech, in true Jay-Z fashion he took a jab at 50 Cent with his one liner “Men lie, Women lie, Numbers don’t!” *laughs* This is exactly why Jay-Z wont entertain Beanie Sigel and 50 Cent with a rebuttal…he’s already home!

Whitney Houston left the costumes and outrageous antics to all newbies. This vet brought the crowd to tears with her voice and magnificent performance, as well as accepted her International Award of Excellence.

Some ok performances went downhill after fall…

Most folks on twitter were offended by Adam Lambert’s flamboyant and raunchy performance…but I can’t help and admit the man has a great voice and entertained us. I just hope he keeps the BJ simulations to a minimum, just a tad bit much for me. P.S. Did ya catch his fall and his quick recovery?


JLO made her comeback to the stage last night and debut her new song “Louboutins” in a boxing outfit. REALLY? Towards the middle of her set, she tries jumping off one of her male dancers she was standing on and quickly fell on her booty…luckily she’s got all the cushion for support. You gotta give it to her…even at 45 years old, she can still get her fly-girl on.

Aside from these great performances mentioned above, our overall consensus of the 2009 AMA’s was it SUCKED! Janet Jackson opened up with an 8 minute intro…a run through of her greatest hits. The woman looked tired as hell dancing around in her uggs. And what was up with the brown ensemble, just hideous!
