MARY J. BLIGE RECOGNIZED FOR CHARITY WORK EFFORTSThe Queen of Hip-hop Soul is set to receive the Nicholas Scoppetta Child Welfare Award at the 10th Annual New Yorkers For Children Fall Gala on September 22nd for her work as the founder of the Foundation For the Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN), an organization which helps boost women’s confidence and to attain the necessary skills need to achieve their full potential. The event will be hosted by CNN’s Anderson Cooper and will raise money for foster children and at-risk families in NYC.
