In hopes of cranking up their ratings, BET milked Michael Jackson’s death and added Chris Brown surprise performance as another must-see element. However at the last minute BET pulled the plug on Chris Brown’s tribute to Michael Jackson. GOT reports,
“Chris Brown was supposed to open the show but BET executives were not agreeing to let Chris go on stage after they had already established that he was performing,” a source revealed to Gossip On This. “A lot of reports were saying that he was using this as a way to rebuild his image. So at the last minute, he was pulled. … After 3 days of rehearsal, they pulled Chris Brown from the show…”
There are also reports claiming Jay-Z is to blame for Chris Brown’s cancelled performance. According to CB’s backup dancer, Brandon Shaw’s twitter page, Jay-Z definitely had a hand in this mess.
I dunno about this…we’ve heard rumors before about Jay-Z claiming CB is a “Dead Man Walking” after he laid out the beatdown on Rihanna. This just doesn’t seem like Jay-Z’s style. Then again, didn’t Jay-Z make a fuss about Sean Paul from performing with Beyonce on “Baby Boy” at some award show way back when. Let me find out Jay-Z is the new Matthew Knowles. Still developing…
Aside from his woman beating ways, CB paying tribute to Michael Jackson would’ve definitely been a major highlight at 2009 BET awards. Remember this…

Jay-Z need to sit his old ass down somewhere. The night was not about him or his wife. A lot of people where expecting Chris to perform. That would have been the highlight. Maybe Jay knew Chris would have upstaged his performance. Maybe it was a good thing CB did not perform. The show sucked!

Jay-z needs to shut to the up. His performance was horrible, so he has no room to talk. I still like Chris Breezy as an artist, I think he can make a come back. We all make mistakes, and God forgives us, so we need to forgive everyone too. The show wasn’t great at all. The king of Pop would have been disappointed if he was still alive.
