NATURI RESPONDS TO LIL’ KIM “NOTORIOUS” COMMENTS…
“I had the guys from Junior Mafia [Biggie’s entourage and labelmates on Bad Boy records] help me out a lot,” Jersey native Naughton told us at the film’s Lincoln Center premiere Wednesday.“I really just researched on my own. I studied videos and spent time in Brooklyn to get an idea of the mentality.”
When pressed about whether Kim wanted to be involved, Naughton cryptically offered, “I don’t know. I tried to reach out to her. I think there was some conflict. I’m not sure.” Source
Meanwhile Faith Evans told Gatecrasher,
“I don’t know what [Kim] wanted. But we all signed the same agreement to be portrayed in the movie.”Naturi continues her response to Lil’ Kim’s pissyness when she recently spoke to AHH on the red carpet NYC premiere of Notorious.
“I hope that when she sees it, she enjoys it. I really put my heart and soul into it. I hope her opinion isn’t affected by my performance because I wanted to bring her to life in a very real way and as best as I could. I try not to get distracted b/c some people will like it and some won’t. What can I do? At the end of the day, I’m just here to do me.”Posted under Beef, Movie, Rumors by LexAve

I think the actress did a good job, as well ALL the actors!! I love BIG! I am also a fan of Lil Kim—-I Love Hip Hop as a whole! Sometimes we admired these entertainers so much that we fee like we KNOW them when we actually do know. I saw the movie last night–It was great! I truly uderstand both sides of this conflict. I understand Ms. Wallace saying that this movie is about her son–and everyone else in the movie was only a small part of the precious life she brought forth. That’s us mothers for you! I would not think that BIG’s Mom or his former wife, Faith would ever truly know the magnitude of BIG’s relationship with Lil Kim. It wasn’t there position t be privy to those intimate details just by nature of their role in his life. But, I told my husband after leaving the movie that I would have thought that the movie would have touched on the type a bond BIG and Lil Kim really had. Its obvious–he didnt marry her, he married Faith–BUT—that doesn’t depict thebond he shared with Kim. The movie made it seem as if BIG only thought of Lil Kim as an artist–and its just my opinion that there was alittle more to them than having sex and her being his “artist”. But it wasn’t the producers responsibility to spend much more of the 2hour budget on assuming what BIG and her had. It seem to show what OTHERS saw them experience–and to the producers the feel they’ve done there job. Lil Kim–YOU know what you and BIG had, his fans know–and the movie was wonderful. I took from the movie that—aside from his children–this man had 4 very special women in his life—His Mom, Jan (1st child’s mom), Faith (2nd childs mom/ex wife), and YOU-Lil KIM!

I enjoyed the movie and all actors played their roles well. Angela Basset did extremly well of course!! I enjoyed seeing the side of Bigg that we never knew the son, the father, and the family man.
The movie was deeper than I thought where he decided that being a man was more important than just being a rapper.

they did portray lil kim negatively..she played like the side chick in biggie’s life. if big didnt have anything to do, call kim and even if this was tru, they didnt have to put it out there like that. simply put lil kim=hoe and faith evans=housewife.the sex scene btwn naturi and jamal was kinda creepy and i didnt see the point in them puttin that in the movie..but thats jus me. the movie was ok…

I say that only Kim knows her relationship with Big when they were together. I really ENJOYED the whole movie everyone did a good job. I like lil Kim and I would like to reach out to her and talk to her. At the end of the day she know what it was. RIP BIG

I think EVERYONE but the dude who played Tupac (who is a GREAT ACTOR otherwise) did an amazing job for what it was. I feel the movie, in it’s composition, was simply rushed and the script and story line could have been developed a little more. I would have liked more meat.
It’s sad that Lil’ Kim is upset about Naturi playing her. I’m a BIG Lil’ Kim fan (Since the Junior Mafia days) and I think Naturi did a wonderful job with the limited space she had in the movie. I do think there could have been more PERIOD when it came to telling the story and you could clearly see that it was a project with a very heavy hand from Ms. Wallace. It was good to see the Christopher Wallace she knew and to get some of his home life and background, however, as a fan, I wanted to see more about his life after becoming Biggie and his relationships with Faith, Lil’ Kim, Charli, Diddy, and Jr. Mafia.

I enjoyed the movie. If kim felt like she didn”t like the portrayal of herself in the movie, then maybe she should have had a more active role in consulting. Instead she have others telling her story and not her telling her own story. lets keep in mind that she had a probelm with the script ; not the acting
