The recession is even forcing the King of New York to push back his new album. Word is Jay-Z’s new album The Blueprint 3 most likely won’t be released this year. The album was originally scheduled to drop Dec. 2nd, but now its speculated to drop sometime in ‘09. Jay dropped the album’s only single “Jockin Jay-Z (Dope Boy Fresh)” literally two months ago and has yet to release a video or much information about the album. All we know is that BP3 will also feature the hit single “Swagga Like Us” and it’s remix which will feature Nas, Andre 3000 and Young Jeezy. If Jay can drop a whole bunch of tracks for American Gangster in less than a month, why can’t he do the same for the Blueprint 3?! Hmm…could it be that the album’s sole producer, Kanye West is too busy working on his own sh*t?! Though Kanye is said to be the sole producer of the album, there reports claiming Pharrell and possibly Timbaland will also be featured on the album’s production. You might also remember when Jay-Z spoke to BBC Radio host Tim Westwood about his upcoming Blueprint 3 album.
“I’m taking my time with it…It’s going to be fantastic,” said Jay-Z. “It’s going to be something the world can be proud of, something I can be proud of it.”
Guess we’ll have to wait for Billboard to official break the news…
