ya all wrong Bustelo started up in the BX da bronx, nyc by Gregorio Bustelo who is from Spain was visiting Cuba and decided to make it in the coffee business
and make his version of cuban style coffee> So it never came from the outside its was just succcesful marketing for hispanic especially by Puerto ricans in the 30′s and 40′s then cubans in the 50′s fleeing Castro. The hype statred by a non cuban but it survived as Cuban???????LOL just the facts it was geared to make money from pr’s and cubanos and is here to stay and it is my favorite coffee out here in the states.
