It all went down at last night’s 15th Anniversary for Vibe Magazine. The celebration brought everyone from the old school to the new school headliners including Naughty by Nature, Brand Nubian, Doug E. Fresh, Salt-n-Pepa, Heavy D to T.I., Swizz Beats, Teyana Taylor, Estelle, Fonzworth Bentley, Kevin Liles, and many others. The host of the evening however was M.I.A…Jay-Z was set to host the grand celebration but like in true Jiggaman form, he was a no-show…fortunately VIBE pulled up some scraps and got BET’s Alesha Renee to fill in. I’m sure the guests were very grateful *smirk* Seriously is that the best VIBE could pull in at the last minute..I mean Alesha is cool and all but that’s a major downgrade. I’m saying I know Jay is like God to most (not I) but if you’re on the cover of the special issue, the least you can is show up for 10 minutes…and to think I was gonna hustle my ass in. Check out the official invite after the cut…***UPDATE***According to a vibester, Jay-Z was never set to host the Vibe’s 15th Anniversary Party…despite the fact he’s their multi-coverboy. The invite previously posted was a total FAKE! So there you have it peoples…Jay-Z wasn’t a no-show, he just wasn’t!
