As predicted, Nas has fallen victim to all the pressure and criticism of his controversially titled album NIGGER. It is being reported that Nas’s upcoming album titled NIGGER has been changed. But contrary to many false reports, Nas has not changed it to NAS but rather untitled. Nas issued a statement to AHH:

“It’s important to me that this album gets to the fans,” Nas told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “It’s been a long time coming. I want my fans to know that creatively and lyrically, they can expect the same content and the same messages. It’s that important. The streets have been waiting for this for a long time. The people will always know what the real title of this album is and what to call it.”

Nas’ untitled album is due in stores July 1 on Island Def Jam. So much for going against the grain…ya knew he to conform at some point. Regardless of the album name change, Nas’ controversial lyrics and music will speak for itself. Either way you look at it, Nas got a load of publicity, both negative & positive, to hype up his the new album but will it push major units…we’ll see the first week in July. Was all that controversy hype just a bluff??….
