Looks like the fed’s aren’t the only one’s trying to throw DMX in the slammer for treating his pets like crap. Apparently animal rights organization PETA has sent an urgent letter to Maricopa County Attorney Andrew P. Thomas urging his office to “vigorously prosecute” DMX’s ass. And if that wasn’t bad enough, they’re also urging their supporters to contact the prosecutor as well and complain about DMX’s poor treatment of animals. According to PETA case worker Peter Wood who issued a statement to AllHipHop,
“Simmons appears to be either unable or unwilling to provide even the most basic care for animals.People who demonstrate such blatant disregard for life and desensitization to suffering can pose a serious risk to all animals—including humans—with whom they come into contact.”
PETA wants DMX’s ass in the pen if he’s convicted of the charges against him and they also feel that he should never be allowed to own or harbor any animals. PETA also believes that DMX’s marbles aren’t all in the right place and that he should be required to undergo a thorough psychological evaluation followed by mandatory counseling. SMH…they’re treating him like he killed somebody! Real talk animal cruelty is wrong and all, but people kill each other every day. And judging from the verdict in the Sean Bell case it appears to be okay.
Moving along to positive news, Usher has hooked up with the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream to serve his nonprofit organization, New Look. New Look has been hosting camps for teens for four years in Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, Cleveland, and Milwaukee in its effort to empower youth by giving them the proper skills needed for careers in the sports and entertainment industries. However, the partnership with the ATL Dream now offers teens an opportunity to intern with the team, thus giving them hands on experience needed to work within a professional basketball organization.
“I’m extremely excited about Camp New Look’s partnership with the Atlanta Dream, and look forward to witnessing how this new partnership motivates our young people to even greater heights,” Usher said. “We wanted to do something extra special for our students, and I’m happy that the Atlanta Dream have provided an avenue for our young entrepreneurs to attain real life experience.”
Keep up the good work Usher!
