In Blender magazine’s May issue Alicia Keys shows her other side. No, get ya mind out the gutter…apparently Ms. Keys has a political side. Shorty tells Blender she’s read several Black Panther autobiographies and rocks a gold AK-47 pendant around her neck “to symbolize strength, power and killing ‘em dead”. She discusses several of her conspiracy theories which have been on the minds of black folks for years!

“Gangsta rap’ was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. ‘Gangsta rap’ didn’t exist. Wait it gets even better! Another one of her theories is that the beef between Tupac and Biggie was instigated ”by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing.”

Although she’s known for hittin’ us up with romantic tracks she wants to write more political songs and feels that if black leaders like the late Black Panther Huey Newton

“had the outlets our musicians have today, it’d be global. I have to figure out a way to do it myself”.

And as for the gold AK-47 pendant Alicia rocks around her neck, that came as a total surprise to her mom who told Blender, “She wears what? That doesn’t sound like Alicia”.
The usually ladylike singer says she’s ready to reveal another side her fans rarely get to see.

“I’m discovering my sexual side,” says the Grammy winner, 28, adding that she recently recorded “my most sexual song yet … I recorded this song – it’s super simple: just piano, Rhodes keyboard and a kick drum. It’s so sensual. It moves you.”

Good to hear Alicia is adding more dimension to her artist persona…Hopefully her views don’t ruin her music career! Let me find out we got a new political freak on our hands…are ya ready for this new Alicia?
