Here are some new covers featuring Chris Brown on the December issue of Right On! & T.I. and Nicole Scherzinger are feat ured on the double cover of Rap-Up’s December/January 2008 issue. Here’s an excerpt from the Chris Brown cover story in Right On! Magazine.
You talk about haters, but I don’t think I have read any negative press about you.
I think when you reach a certain level of stardom people just have stuff to make up about you. I was in South Africa and there’s this South African Paris Hilton out there. There’s this girl that has this rich, rich, billionaire husband or whatever and she just starts a lot of trouble. She’s just like a big troublemaker to be in the papers. When I got back to the states from being in South Africa a couple of weeks ago, I heard she said that I was trying to force her to come to my room. I’m like, “Yo, she needs publicity that bad?” I never met the girl a day in my life. I don’t know who she is. I don’t know barely what she looks like. I’ve seen her in a magazine once. Why would I force a girl to my room? Like, come on.
How do you feel when you read something that’s false?
Well, I think laughing is the thing I do the most. When I read ‘em, it’s funny because it’s like hearing your record for the first time on the radio. You never in a million years think you would get to the point where people would play your music or respond to you as a big artist. For them to say something bad about me, I must be doing something right.
So it is safe to assume the story about him getting his manager ain’t true…I wonder, hmm.
In Rap-Up magazine, T.I., though he may be under house arrest, he shares how he maintains his fast-paced lifestyle, his plans to marry and start a family with girlfriend Tiny, staying out of trouble, his friendship with Suge Knight and Jay-Z, and retiring from rap. Meanwhile, the former Pussycat Doll, Nicole whats-her-name, speaks about going solo, her admiration for Beyoncé and Gwen Stefani, getting up close and personal with T.I., being a nerd in college, and dealing with the paparazzi. Also be sure to check out my interview with Pras in the new issue where he talks a bit about Lauryn Hill and his favorite greatest music groups.
