Seems like nowadays everyones album is getting pushed back. Anyway, Nas’ controversial Nigger album was supposed to drop next month, but instead its been pushed to February which is also Black History Month. Nas told MTV that the first single will drop sometime in January. Over the weekend, a snippet of “What It Is” which was labeled a new Nas record was leaked on the internet. “Racist neighbors flinchin’,” he rhymes. “They don’t know if I’mma rob them/ Or if I’m Russell Simmons/ They thought it was me, just like Mike Bivens/ They pray for my downfall like the mom of Robin Givens.” However, Nas’ crew said that he’s still working out the album’s final track list. Monday afternoon, the God Son himself told MTV that “What It Is” will not be on the album. He says, “I never rhymed to that beat”. Obviously someone stole his vocals and just added them to a random beat.
I wonder what Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are going to say when they find out that the album is dropping on Black History Month. I can picture them rallying outside of a record store telling folks to boycott the album. What a hot mess!
