Rapper Young Jeezy is continuing with his mission—motivating the thugs. The Snowman recently spoke to MTV and revealed a few tidbits about his new album Thug Motivation 103 including some tracks to look out for such as “I Got This” and “Suicide Music”. According to Jeezy, he’s taking his time with this album and believes that it’s definitely going to be his best. He says,

“When you buy this album, you’ll know where I’m going. If I can recall, one of the first lines is, ‘No matter what they think, I’m trying to do better/ Despite of what they think, I’m making you better/ So let them go back and forth about who’s better.’  Adding, “To me, that’s how I feel. No matter what they think, I go harder to be an example for my homies and everybody around me. I’m trying to make cats better. So if you feel the rapping part is that serious to you, then you go with that. When you go with motivational speaking, you don’t want it to rhyme — you want it to make sense. If he sounds like he’s rhyming, it sounds like a jingle — like he’s trying to sell you a turkey burger or something.”

He adds,

“To me, I know [artists] say, ‘This is going to be my best work.’ This is going to be my best work with the experience I have and I’m still me. Cats been rocking with me for four or five years. I’mma give them what they need to do and I’m gonna motivate the thugs.”

Eventhough Young Jeezy has a couple more dollars in his pockets than he did a few years ago, he insists that every time he gets on stage no matter how big or small the crowd is he still reps the hood. Jeezy is currently on tour with Jeremih, Drake, Soulja Boy, Pleasure P and Nicki Minaj who are all part of Young Money Presents: America’s Most Wanted Festival which kicked off earlier this week in Scranton, PA. He tells MTV,

“Yeah, I still do it for where I came from, I do it for the ‘hood every time. But it’s good to see [a new audience]. It’s broadening, every year, every time. To be doing it here — we in PA, man. This looks different. I’m just ready to see what the crowd is gonna be like. How they gonna feel. It looks like energy already.”

In related news, Jeezy will be stopping at NYC’s Prime Nightclub for a special performance today to celebrate his recent partnership with Belvedere Vodka.

You never know who’s going to show up at Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert. The King of New York, Jay-Z brought the King of Pop aka Michael Jackson on stage with him back in 2001. Last year, Method Man, Akon, Jim Jones, Fat Joe, LL Cool J and Ghostface Killah took the stage surprising shocked fans. I highly doubt that this year’s concert is going to be any different ‘cause you never know what to expect at Summer Jam! This year’s line up features the Mary J. Blige, T-Pain, The Dream, Young Jeezy, Jadakiss, Elephant Man, reggae newcomers Mavado and Serani and many more.

Jadakiss recently revealed to MTV that he’s coming out on top at this year’s concert and has a few surprises in store for fans. According to Jada, he’s no longer stuck with opening for other artists, this year he’s going on much later in the show. He says,

“I always try to give one or two surprises. I know they wanna see me. I just dropped a new [album, The Last Kiss], so I gotta keep the surprise guests to a minimum. I might give you Jazmine [Sullivan]. I might give you something nice and soft and something nice and hard. It’s gonna be a good look, though. I feel real good about his one this year.”

This year’s show will be hosted by funnyman Tracy Morgan and will take place at Giants Stadium at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
