Rather than do the typical recap of who failed at the BET Awards, we’re turning a new leaf and focusing on the positive. Those mentioned…won! Those not mention…well clearly they failed! lol. Let’s get things started with Kelly Rowland’s killer performance at The BET Awards. Miss Kelly officially became a solo star last night. Not only did she prove why she deserves the solo stardom but she proved Beyonce ain’t the only singing/entertaining sensation. From the sexy choreography to the smooth vocals, Kelly Killed It!

Within minutes twitter world took notice and made Kelly a trending topic. Great to see Kelly wining and getting her long overdue recognition.

Kelly Rowland is definitely winning and to keep her winning streak going here are some suggestions she should consider before the ride comes a screeching hault…
REALITY SHOW- about what you ask? Who cares?…apparently everyone and their mother seems to get one these days…so go go go and make it work!

LOVE LIFE- Kelly needs a new love interest and something that’ll keep gossip folks talking, as that’ll breed more publicity…can’t go wrong with that.

REMIXES- With everyone in the industry remixing her single “Motivation”, Kelly should very much consider jumping on other folks music. That’ll keep her name and fame buzzing.

NEW MUSIC- Hurry up and release a new single…”Motivation” spins on the radio and requests has its days numbered. With Beyonce dropping her new album, Kelly needs to push out some new material ASAP!

MAGAZINE COVERS- With the great success of “Motivation”, Kelly needs to start scoring some glossy covers…NOW!

NYC was filled with celebs last night as they flocked to the many exclusive events that went down in the city that never sleeps. Chris Brown, Fabolous, and supermodel Jessica White attended Swatch’s launch party for their New Gents Collection at the Gansevoort.

While, our fav U.K. chick Estelle made her rounds yesterday along with Trey Songz, Method Man and others who came out to the launch party of Def Jam Rapstar at the Hudson Hotel.

The ladies of Str8NYC (LexAve & Skool) spent an evening with Trey Songz…along w/100 other female fans. HA! Power 105.1 held an intimate Q&A session with Trey songz and invited a small group of his hardcore female fans to the PC Richard & Son Theater in NYC.

Least to say Trey Songz had the all the women, and teenage girls in a trance. Mr. Yup played and playfully sang along to cuts off his new album Passion, Pain, Pleasure- like “Can’t be Friends“, “Bottoms Up“, and some other sh*t that sounds the same as the album before, Ready. Songz apparently loves his fan though, because quite a few times he would hug random girls who were on the verge of passing out from all his sex energy, lol. There was even one girl who asked if he’d take a picture with her; because at his last concert, she got cut in line by a stampede of girls. #AWWW I bet while she was hugging him she was thinking “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED”. It’s been a minute since I heard about my gurl Melanie Fiona..granted she’s globetrotting making her mark overseas but damn do I miss her. Glad to see she’s now officially part of the 2010 Rocawear Fall Campaign along with Trey Songz. Here’s a lil’ bit about the campaign and some fabulous photography of the two.

Here’s the sneak peek to Trey Songz “Bottoms Up” featuring Nicki Minaj. The Mr.StealYaGurl tells MTV,

“[It's] is a very creative video, different from the norm, different than what I feel is expected of me and anything I’ve shot for that matter,” he told MTV. “[Director] Anthony [Mandler] used a lot of different shooting techniques and I think it heightens whatever it is that the song has already. The drive, the vigor, the club anthem, the energy in the record is definitely heightened with this video.”
“It’s as if I’m walking through some kind of funhouse, filled with women and different seductive things,” Songz continued. “There’s a two-way mirror that’s a dope effect that he uses. And the lighting shows, and then you see women and then you don’t and then you see them and then you don’t.”

As for our fav Hip Hop Barbie, surely she’ll deliver in her theatrical ways. On another note, is it me or is Trey Songz channeling a bit of Usher in this video?

With Trey Songz’ release of new album Passion, Pain and Pleasure out September 14th via Songbook/Atlantic Records, Trey is proving to all he’s going nowhere! Check out his cover story on Billboard magazine where Trey talks about his come up, sex songs, his image, new album Passion, Pain and Pleasure, & more…

On Sex Songs:

“The public likes generic more than they like to admit, so that’s what I gave them — I gave them sexual singles and they ate it up,” Songz says about the string of blatantly sexed-up hits from “Ready.” “I gave them two whole albums before this one — on one I talked about a mother’s love for her son and a father not being there, and on the other I made a song about safe sex. They were well accepted but not as much as the records on ‘Ready.’ The singles were purposely very sexual to capture people’s attention.”

On “I Invented Sex” not being a single:

“We wrote the song and sent it over to [Songz] because I thought the song was a hit and a good fit,” songwriter Carlos “Los DaMystro” McKinney says. “He demoed it, but because of politics and bullshit, [the song wasn't going to be released]. It actually leaked, and after they saw the reception it got, that’s when they decided to add it.”

“Certain people at the label didn’t believe in the record,” Songz explains. “It was said the chorus was complicated and wouldn’t do well in research at radio. We were asked to change the chorus so that the line ‘I invented sex’ came earlier. I wanted it to be a single and the label wasn’t onboard with that until after the record began to move on its own.”

On releasing “Passion, Pain and Pleasure”:

“I couldn’t release it before because I still have records in rotation on radio from ‘Ready’ that won’t go nowhere anytime soon,” Songz says. “But I didn’t ever want to wait two years in between any album. I don’t want to do this at a slow pace. You only have a window, one moment, and someone else can take my moment. I’m not about to allow that.”
