Roc Nation’s own and friend to Str8NYC.com, Melanie Fiona is back with another banger off her upcoming project “The MF Life” entitled “Like I Love You” produced by Supa Dups. I can’t help but compare this joint to Rihanna’s “Man Down”…obviously not vocally but the melodies do sound similar.

Wanna kick things off by wishing everyone a Happy New Year! Apologies for the lack of posting lately, but other things have taken priority that need tending to. Not to mention I haven’t really been motivated or inspired to post anything…feels the like the same BS is going on this industry and its just TIRED! I’ll get to that in another post. I recently came across some new video footage of the homie Melanie Fiona. We’ve been an avid MF fan since seeing her tear down the stage at BB Kings in NYC way back when. Glad to hear she’s back working on her sophomore disc. Check out the singer in this teaser clip below entitled Living the MF Life . In the teaser she gushes about her new album and talks what it takes to walk in her shoes all while living her dream.

Definitely excited for some new material from MF.

It’s been a minute since I heard about my gurl Melanie Fiona..granted she’s globetrotting making her mark overseas but damn do I miss her. Glad to see she’s now officially part of the 2010 Rocawear Fall Campaign along with Trey Songz. Here’s a lil’ bit about the campaign and some fabulous photography of the two.

JAY-Z TO BATTLE BEYONCE @ 2010 BET AWARDS

On Tuesday, BET announced the list of nominees for its 2010 BET Awards. Don’t even get me started about this year’s nominees. Anywhoo, Hip-hop’s royal couple Jay-Z and Beyonce will be battling it out in three categories at this year. I’m guessing BET did that on purpose so that people will actually tune-in– this just might be the closest thing to a fit that you’ll ever get from the Carters anyway. The two are nominated for “Video of the Year”, “Best Collaboration” and “Viewers Choice”. Jay-Z is also up against one of our favorite songstresses Melanie Fiona and rap newcomer B.o.B in video of the year as well. Ya already know Jay “runs this town”, but he’s also running this year’s nominations as he’s in the lead with five, including “Best Male Hip-hop Artist”. While wifey Beyonce and Swizz Beatz’ boo Alicia Keys vying for “Best R&B Female Artist”. Young Money’s Drake and Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz and Diddy will be taking the stage as confirmed performers. Let just hope Nicki doesn’t perform “Massive Attack” ’cause that would definitely be a massive failure…well it already is. Queen Latifah is set to host the awards ceremony which takes place Sunday, June 27th.
