Actress Halle Berry knows first hand the pain of domestic violence from growing up in an abusive home to even falling for abusive men. Halle is very vocal when it comes to domestic violence through her work with the Jennesse Center, an organization that provides support to abused women through its domestic violence intervention program. Earlier this year, Rihanna found herself a victim to domestic abuse and found the courage to end her relationship with her abuser. Halle admits that she’s proud of the pop star for ending her tumultuous relationship with Chris Brown. She tells Access Hollywood,

“Any time a woman frees herself from that kind of bondage and that kind of situation I am proud of that person.”

The World’s Most Beautiful Woman aka Halle Berry has a soft spot for women who have suffered from a black eye as well as black and blue marks at the hands of their significant others. And for that very same reason, for 10 years she’s been an avid supporter and fund-raiser for the Jennesse Center, an organization that provides support to abused women through its domestic violence intervention program. She says,

“I grew up in an abusive family. I saw firsthand the destruction that abuse can do, especially to children. I’ve always cared about women and women’s issues.” Adding, “I would clean them up, get them clothes and get them situated for their first night there. Sometimes I counsel them. They look at me as if I have all the answers. But I’m not a therapist. I just try to be an ear, be a friend, someone who they can talk to, confide in.”
