There’s always a first for everything and Beyonce is experiencing her first of lackluster of singles. In case you haven’t heard Beyonce’s “Run the World (Girls)” is tanking on the Billboard charts. According to Billboard, “Run the World (Girls)” has climbed Billboard’s Social 50 Chart and lands No. 33 on Billboard Hot 100. For Beyonce’s standard, well that’s just a huge and overall disappointment. So what do you when your fans, radio, and itunes just aren’t feeling your single? Well you go on overload…

You pull out all the stops and get heavy on visuals….

Yesterday Beyonce and her camp leaked a teaser to her “Girls” video. Enjoy the twenty second sneak peak of the Francis Lawrence-directed video below.

What else do you do to gain her fans back and get airplay…you make yourself relevant i.e publicity stunt…

Beyonce is just a different caliber of celebrity to jump on any old publicity stunt. Rather than that, she opts to touch the hearts of all Americans. With renewed patriotism sweeping across the country following the demise of Osama bin Laden, it only makes sense to put out a recorded studio version of “God Bless the U.S.A.”

Coincidence? HELL NO! Talk about brilliant!!

According to ThisisRnB,

The song will air on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight,” with proceeds benefitting 9/11 charities. “#Beyonce is releasing a new song, a cover of ‘God Bless the USA’, and it will get 1st TV airing on @PiersTonight CNN 9pm ET,” wrote Morgan. “All proceeds from #Beyonce song will go to New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund.”
The patriotic single will become available on iTunes shortly after. “Fans should be able to buy #Beyonce song as soon as Friday on iTunes and from her website beyonce.com.”

Keep in mind she performed this song back in 2008 for Barack Obama’s campaign and it arrives the same day as the President’s visit to Ground Zero to honor those lost on 9/11. Beyonce sure knows how to stay relevant without being all up in your genius. And for this, her #s will go up and she’ll be back on top. Stay tuned for another stunt or visuals to come…

While, Rihanna and the other wannabe’s try to emulate her, Forbes magazine just dropped its “Most Powerful Women List” and surprisingly Beyonce didn’t make the top 5. Sure, she and hubby Jay-Z may be at the top when it comes to raking in the dollars, but her “hottest chick in the game” title is in jeopardy of being revoked! The “Single Ladies” hitmaker, came in ninth place on Forbes’ list, while Lady Gaga is two steps ahead of her at No. 7. Now, the “hottest chick in the game” according to Forbes is First Lady O! President Obama’s wifey claims the No. 1 spot–beating Oprah Winfrey. Well, it does make sense that Michelle would be the most powerful woman. Um…her hubby is running our country.

Although Jay-Z is buddies with President Barack Obama after working on the Democratic election campaign last year, he maintains that he’s not switching up his rap style to please his politician pals. Apparently, Jay has Prez. Obama’s number “on speed dial” in his cell phone. WOW! But, there’s no need to worry ’cause Jay-Z isn’t toning down his cut-throat lyrics for anyone, not even the president of the United States! He tells BBC ,

“Sometimes there are hard truths in rap, they’re not packaged with pretty ribbons. Sometimes the realities of the situations are harsh and they need to be told.”

He adds,

“We’re the poets of our generation! Those truths and those honesties need to be told and sometimes that will rub people the wrong way but that don’t mean you don’t tell them… I think when rap is done brilliantly it can inform you of a problem, things that are going on.”

Seems like no one has quite enough swagger like Jay-Z ’cause he hasn’t released an album in a minute, yet he managed to snag the No. 1 spot on The Source magazine’s “Power 30″ list. According to the publication, Jay-Z deserves the top spot because he’s an industry leader and a top businessman, thus taking into consideration his ventures with Live Nation and Rocawear as well as his part-ownership of the New Jersey Nets. Take note that Jay isn’t a businessman, he’s a BUSINESS man! Other notable celebrities who made the list include, Diddy, 50 cent, Lil Wayne, Will.i.Am., Snoop Dogg, T-Pain and Miss Fabulosity herself Kimora Lee Simmons. President Barack Obama also gets an honorable mention because of his great influence on the new hip-hop generation.

In related news, the moment you’ve all been waiting for is finally here…well not exactly, but it’s almost here! It’s official, Jay-Z will release his anticipated album Blueprint 3 on September 11th. Word is a formal announcement will be made at Hot 97′s Summer Jam concert on Sunday.

Had it been just two cops shooting the chimp it would’ve been fine, but adding “They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill!” just directly connects it to President Barack Obama. It appears that the legendary Etta James is not a big fan of Beyonce. So much so that she wants to give her a beatdown! Apparently, Etta “can’t stand” Beyonce and hates that the President and the First Lady danced to Beyonce’s rendition of her hit song “At Last” at the Neighborhood ball on January 20th in Washington D.C. Ms. James publicly aired her discontent with the songstress at a concert in Seattle earlier this week in which she said,
“You guys know your President, right? You know the one with the big ears? Wait a minute, he ain’t my President, he might be yours, he ain’t my President. You know that woman he had singing for him, singing my song – she’s going to get her a*s whipped. The great Beyonce. I can’t stand Beyonce! She has no business up there, singing up there on a big ol’ President day, singing my song that I’ve been singing forever.”


Etta was probably high off of something on stage ’cause last month her son told the NYDaily News that, “She was looking forward to seeing it. She was honoured (and) she thought it was great. She’s gotten emotional, just like everybody else”. Etta should be happy that “the great” Beyonce has made her relevant again.
