Akon recently came out of his face accusing Christina Aguilera of straight jackin’ Lady Gaga’s style. Well, the pop star decided to respond to the Konvict’s comment. X-Tina doesn’t give two sh*ts about what Akon has to say and wants to remind him including the world that she’s a veteran in the game. She says,

“It just comes with the territory. That, in particular, is not even worth wasting the breath to comment on.” She added, “I’ve been around for over a decade and I think my work speaks for myself. [When I was younger] I would have engaged, been a little upset [about the comparisons]. There’s a bigger picture out there. I’ve got my son, my family, my work.”

Glad she handled it the way she did. Really, what’s the point of catching feelings over what Akon thinks when she has more important things to worry about.

While the world may be going gaga for Lady Gaga, legend Grace Jones isn’t a fan of the pop star. When asked how she felt about the singer, she told UK’s Guardian newspaper,

“I really don’t think of her at all. I go about my business. Adding, “Well, you know, I’ve seen some things she’s worn that I’ve worn, and that does kind of piss me off,”

Apparently, Lady Gaga desperately wanted to collaborate with Miss Jones—but she turned her down with the quickness.

“Yes, she did, but I said no,” Grace said. “I’d just prefer to work with someone who is more original and someone who is not copying me, actually.”

Grace kept it real funky, but I wonder how she feels about Rihanna? And Akon is a dummy if he thinks Lady Gaga’s swag is original ’cause it’s pretty evident where she gets her inspiration from. Need a reminder?…

Looks like Akon is accusing singer Christina Aguilera of swagger jackin’! The Konvict seems to think that Lady Gaga has every chick in the game shook that they’re all trying to bite her style including Miss Aguilera. He tells Vibe magazine,

“Christina shouldn’t have anything to prove or anyone to compete with. I miss the old Christina Aguilera. I like the old one better than the new one. Honestly, Gaga and Christina could probably get together and do something that’s amazing. But that’s impossible if they are both trying to do the same exact thing musically.

And Akon is convinced Christina can’t knock Lady Gaga out of the game. He adds,

“Aw man, that’s not even any competition. You are actually giving Christina too much credit. She always had her cool little look and way about how she went about things. But soon as Gaga came out, everything switched up. Christina stepped out of her own shell to become something different. And the crazy thing is Christina is really talented. She has unlimited range when it comes to singing. Her voice is out of here. “I think sometimes she gets insecure because of all of the success Gaga has had, not realizing that she was already successful before Gaga came out.”

I can’t knock Lady GaGa’s movement, but she straight up jacked Madonna’s style. So Akon needs to #sithisassdown ’cause Lady GaGa ain’t original her damn self.

Looks like BET took note from MTV’s successful “Hope For Haiti Now” telethon which helped raise over $58 million– sparking the network to create its own telethon titled “SOS Saving Ourselves—Help for Haiti” to be hosted by Queen Latifah, Diddy and Pharrell Williams. The two hour event will take place at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami and will air on BET,  Centric, MTV and VH1 on Friday, February 5^th at 8 pm ET.

“Words cannot express how I felt watching the catastrophic events unfold in Haiti. I believe it is our duty to come together and help our brothers and sisters in Haiti, especially now, in their greatest hour of need. I have joined forces with Queen Latifah, Pharrell, BET and several of the biggest names in music today to raise funds for the Haiti Relief efforts. Together we can make a difference,” says Diddy.

A string of artists including Ne-Yo, Keri Hilson, Chris Brown, Jazmine Sullivan, Akon, Ludacris, Mary J. Blige, Robin Thicke, Monica, Busta Rhymes, India Arie, Kirk Franklin, Nas and Damian Marley are set to hit the stage for this special event. In addition to musical performances, Mr. “Panty Dropper”  aka Trey Songz, Common, David Banner, Missy Elliott, Chrisette Michelle, Jeremih, The Dream, Jason Derulo, T-Pain, Sean Kingston and more will also make appearances.

“The devastation that has occurred in Haiti has broken my heart. My hope is that we can raise enough money to sustain a few of the relief organizations for quite some time as there is a lot of work to be done over there,” said Pharrell Williams. “The goal is not only to bring immediate relief to Haiti but to also rebuild the country and help the country move forward.”

Proceeds from the event will go to Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti, CARE, Project MediShare and Children’s Safe Drinking Water.

While Luda and his friends were busy helping feed the needy, Queen Latifah was too busy smelling herself. Hopping on the celebrity fragrance bandwagon, the rapper-turned-actress was at Macy’s Herald Square in NYC promoting her new fragrance fit for a “Queen”.

Whitney Houston has confessed that in the beginning she was a bit hesitant about working with Konvict Akon, when her mentor Clive Davis first suggested the collaboration. She says,

“When Clive told me I would be working with Akon, I thought, ‘Hmm, interesting, um, all right’. I wanted the record like ‘My Love Is Your Love’ with an island feel. I wanted an island record because ‘My Love Is Your Love’ is so huge and it has its own fashion with Wyclef. I wanted that feeling, but I didn’t know who could do that. And Clive came and said, ‘Akon is the guy that we’re going to work with.’ And I was like, ‘OK, Akon. OK, I can deal with that.’ “

POP THE HOOD FOR MORE…

For some odd reason, Whitney still wasn’t feeling Akon why they first met each other. Apparently, the diva  still wasn’t convinced that she could work with him. However, she insists that she’s happy she gave him a chance instead of completely turning her back on a possible collaboration.

She adds, “I was asking him, ‘Did your mother name you Akon?’ And he said, ‘No, it means a convict.’ And I thought, ‘Oh, God. OK, all right, I can handle that.’ He’s a gentleman. He did his work very well. We did it very quickly, very diligently, and I’m very proud of that record. It’s a great record.”

In related news, after the unexpected death of the Michael Jackson, who was expected to perform 50 shows at London’s O2 arena, promoters over at AEG Live are on their grind in an attempt to find a replacement that can take the King of Pop’s place. Word is they have diva, Whitney Houston in mind to take on a few of the 23 dates Michael had scheduled for early next year. A snitch reveals,

“Whitney Houston has been on the O2 arena wish-list for a while – she has the voice and hits to sell out the arena out several times over.”
