Word is Beyonce is itching to star in a remake of “Sister Act” so much so that she’s begging Disney to consider the project and to cast her in it of course. A snitch says,

“Beyonce has asked her representatives to persuade Disney to develop the show into a film vehicle for her. If this comes to pass, she would take on, in musical form, the part Whoopi Goldberg creates in the 1992 ‘Sister Act’ film, although the stage version moves the action from the West Coast to Philadelphia.”

If Disney has enough common sense they wouldn’t dare remake a classic film casting Beyonce as the lead!

Imagine not hearing Kanye’s voice on Keri Hilson’s smash hit “Knock You Down”. Weird, huh?! Well, according to Keri Hilson, the track was originally a duet with her and Ne-Yo. It just so happens that Kanye accidentally got on the track and murdered it! She says,

“Ne-Yo and I have wanted to do a song together for quite some time but we just never found the perfect song. When I had this, quickly I thought, ‘oh maybe this could be a duet, maybe this could be the one that I do with Ne-Yo’. So we made that happen.” She adds, “We were about to turn the album in right at the last minute and then I was working with Kanye on something else. That’s how I began working with him and it was purely an accident how he got on that song - it was just me and Ne-Yo.”

Yesterday, Ciara opened up for Jay-Z at The Pearl theater at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. There’s no denying that CiCi can move, but she needs to spend a lil’ more time perfecting her vocals instead of her dance routines.

After much scrutiny following his “Every Girl” performance at the BET Awards last Sunday which featured a bunch of lil’ girls including Lil’ Wayne’s daughter frolicking on stage to explicit lyrics, rapper Drake has broken his silence in an attempt to shut critics up. In a recent interview with Complex, Drake admits that the idea was terrible and has offered an apology to all who were offended. He says,

“That…was a terrible idea that I’ll never do to myself again. But I was being pressed from different areas to perform, and I think what really happened at the BET Awards is with the passing of Mike, the climate really changed, as far as the award show goes.” Adding,“I don’t think it called for us to perform “Every Girl” and “Always Strapped,” and I think it was an award show filled with tributes and music and these genuine heartfelt speeches. And to sort of climax out of a very tongue-n-cheek point, and then people misconstruing Wayne’s daughters and her friends coming out on stage — it was just timed very poorly and it definitely wasn’t planned like that, but with that being said, it is what is. I believe in Wayne and myself and it’s nothing we can’t bounce back from. To anyone who was offended, my personal apologies, it wasn’t intended to offend anybody.”

As for BET, after all the backlash they received they’re sorry too and plan to run an edited version of the show on Monday, July 6th. A rep tells AllHipHop,

“BET Networks deeply regrets the performance by Young Money at the BET AWARDS ‘09 (featuring Lil Wayne, Drake, Gudda Gudda and Mack Maine). Elements of the performance were unplanned and should not have happened.”

Out of all the crazy ish I’ve heard this week from Michael’s kids not being his (well we all speculated this anyway), but this is by far the craziest! Word is actor Johnny Depp is being considered to play Michael Jackson in a biopic about the late legend. Yep, dude from “Pirates of the Caribbean”! While, Jamie Foxx is also being considered to play the King of Pop before he switched it up on us and turned white. WTF?! A snitch says,

“There are a number of offers being drawn up with a variety of angles to tell Michael’s incredible life story. Some involve using archive footage of Michael and his family and footage from his live shows…A couple would even have an actor cast to play Michael. Jamie Foxx has been mentioned, as has Johnny Depp. It all depends on how his family decide to honor him.”

However, Johnny Depp insists that he hasn’t been even been approached to play the King of Pop. He says,

“No no no, I never ever thought of playing Michael Jackson in a film. I think if anyone should play Michael Jackson in a film it should’ve been Michael Jackson.”

Why can’t they just find a light skin brotha to play Michael?! Johnny Depp is a great actor, but I just can’t picture him playing the King of Pop.

It’s been projected that Mr. Birthday Sex aka Jeremih is expected to crush Maino in next week’s album sales. Word is Jeremih’s debut album is expected to sell between 45,000 and 50,000 in its first week. While, Maino’s long delayed debut, If Tomorrow Comes… is expected to sell a depressing 18,000-23,000. Hmm…I wonder how many CD’s Def Jam is going to cop to make sure Jeremih comes out on top?!
