The Louis Vuitton Don is branching out into designing footwear…again, by launching his own line of loafers. Kanye West has teamed up with shoemakers Stubbs and Wootton, who are known for their European-styled slippers and loafers. Stubbs and Wootton owner Percy Steinheart dished to the NY Post,

“We were honored that he approached us to do something together. We do a lot of crests. And (Kanye) loves crests.”

Kanye’s line is set to hit store shelves in Spring 2011.

Is the Beyonce still considered the hottest chick in the game? While, Rihanna and the other wannabe’s try to emulate her, Forbes magazine just dropped its “Most Powerful Women List” and surprisingly Beyonce didn’t make the top 5. Sure, she and hubby Jay-Z may be at the top when it comes to raking in the dollars, but her “hottest chick in the game” title is in jeopardy of being revoked! The “Single Ladies” hitmaker, came in ninth place on Forbes’ list, while Lady Gaga is two steps ahead of her at No. 7. Now, the “hottest chick in the game” according to Forbes is First Lady O! President Obama’s wifey claims the No. 1 spot–beating Oprah Winfrey. Well, it does make sense that Michelle would be the most powerful woman. Um…her hubby is running our country.

We can’t but wonder…has Bey has lost her swag?

It was nearly a month ago that J-Lo’s “outlandish” demands and pay out from American Idol fell through. Now she’s back on. J-Lo snagged a $12 million dollar paycheck for the next season of American Idol. She is be also joined by new judge Aerosmith front man, Steven Tyler. According to People,

Lopez’s $12 million contract, which was first reported by Deadline.com, comes two weeks after DioGuardi confirmed she was leaving the show, following in the footsteps of both Simon Cowell and new judge Ellen DeGeneres.

According to the report, Lopez was hoping for movie and TV development deals to accompany and even larger Idol salary as well as input about her new co-judges, but Fox made no commitments and she settled for a cool $12.

“She’s very excited,” a source close to Lopez says of the final deal.

BRAWL BREAKS OUT AT RIKERS ISLAND…IS LIL’ WAYNE OKAY?!

This past weekend things got really crazy at Rikers Island in New York– the same prison where rapper Lil’ Wayne currently calls home. It all started around 11 pm when a group of prisoners refused to go back in their cells before the lights went out. According to Corrections Department mouthpiece Stephen Morello,

“A few inmates were encouraging others not to lock in. So we sent a response team to maintain order and get inmates locked in.”

The melee left 20 inmates injured, while two captains and 11 guards were rushed to a nearby hospital. Guess those inmates really have nothing to lose as they’re looking at facing more time in the pen ’cause charges are expected to be filed against them.

Where was Lil’ Wayne when this all went down?

Earlier today, Beyonce along with MaMa Knowles attended the unveiling of the “Beyonce Cosmetology Center” at the Phoenix House Career Academy in Brooklyn. Beyonce’s Cosmetology Center will offer a seven month cosmetology training course for men and women. L’Oreal Paris has agreed to provide makeup, skin care, and hair products for the program. Guess it’s only right being that she is the face of L’Oreal. The singer became involved with the Phoenix House while preparing for the role of heroine addict Etta James in Cadillac Records. Today was definitely a good day for Bey, as Brooklyn borough president Marty Markowitz officially declared her a Brooklynite!

This was truly a mother and daughter moment!

WRAP IT UP! NYC CONDOM CONTEST…

There’s definitely nothing wrong with a lil’ bump and grind especially when you’re doing it right! In a society where STD’s and HIV/AIDS is rampant, the folks over at New York City’s Health Department want to make sure that if you’re going to get busy at least wrap it up. In December 2009, the city’s Health Department launched a contest to redesign the wrapper of its N.Y.C condom brand. Out of 600 entries the city has narrowed it down to five finalists, and now New Yorkers can get involved by voting for their favorite condom wrapper on www.nyc.gov/health or on Facebook. The winning design will be announced on February 28^th and will be the face of thousands of free condoms that are handed out throughout the city. According to the Health Department, NYC has handed out 119 million condoms since 2007, including 41.5 million last year! Wow, that’s a lot of condoms!

Health Commissioner Thomas Farley hopes that the contest will promote HIV/AIDS awareness and encourage New Yorkers to wrap it up. “We still face an epidemic of HIV/AIDS and high rates of other sexually transmitted diseases,” said Farley. “When used correctly and consistently, condoms can prevent these infections as well as intended pregnancies.”

There’s no excuse not to use a condom especially when they’re FREE!
