Earlier this week, news of a Rutger’s University freshman who committed suicide after his roommate exposed his sexual encounters with another man on the Internet spread like wildfire. Cyberbullying is becoming a major problem in the United States especially with the increase use of social media networks like Facebook and Twitter. Well, MTV wants those who are being targeted to know that it’s not the end of the world–literally. Nicki Minaj is the latest celebrity to join MTV’s ongoing “A Thin Line” initiative– aimed at individuals who believe they’re being cyberbullied or are looking for ways to stop digital harassment. Young Money’s first lady shared a few words of encouragement for her gay fans with MTV News,

“I would encourage my gay fans to be fighters and to be brave. People face difficulties, no matter who you are. I faced difficulties with a lot of things. I face opposition every day, but I didn’t kill myself and now, thank God, I’m here. So I want my life to be a testimony to my fans and my gay fans.

Fast forward to 0:54 where she just goes blank, trying to figure out what else to say. It’s kind of hilarious.

As you all are aware, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit the Caribbean island of Haiti leaving death and destruction in its path. Thousands are either dead or homeless. And even during this time, ignorance still prevails. Televangelist Pat Robertson had the nerve to open up his mouth and say that Haiti made a pact with the devil and that is the very reason why Mother Nature let out such a devastating cry–calling this calamity a “blessing in disguise”. Pure stupidity!

Well, I’m here to clear up all the misconceptions about this beautiful island filled with strong and beautiful people.

One thing you may not know is that Haiti was born out of struggle, and will definitely persevere from Tuesday’s drastic earthquake. The Haitians are a strong group of people who contrary to what many believe have deep religious faith and have a great sense of national pride. Back in 1804, the Haitians accomplished something that no other people in world history ever have—a successful national slave revolt.  But, did you know that Haiti helped Simon Bolivar of Bolivia fight for its independence from Spain? Did you that Haiti was once the RICHEST island in the Caribbean? Did you know that Jean Baptiste Pointe du Sable, a Haitian man discovered Chicago, Illinois?

Many blame Haiti for why its impoverished; however blame the greedy “westerners” for sucking her dry of her beauty and riches. Blame France for punishing her by cutting off all international ties of trade. The Haitians were forced to pay the French government $150 million to compensate the French plantation owners for their “financial” loss in exchange for France’s recognition of Haiti’s independence. France even went as far as placing Haiti on a list of the most “undesirable” countries not to be visited, thus affecting the country’s tourism which in effect placed a major strain on Haiti’s economy. The French should be paying Haiti reparations for its brutality and cruelty against her people. Blame the “western world” for turning their backs on her solely because her people proved they could successfully resist colonization. And even after Haiti received its independence in 1804, she wasn’t even recognized by her neighbor– the United States for 60 years! Guess, this is how you repay a country that helped fight for FREEDOM from the British in the American Revolutionary War and even the U.S. Civil War against slavery. Not to mention, the United States is so quick to close its doors to Haitian refugees who make their way onto U.S. soil every day.

So, the world owes Haiti and she desperately needs OUR HELP!

Open up a book and learn about your history and not what these “westerners” want you to believe! So when all you can think about is calling your brothers and sisters in Haiti “devil worshippers” or Haitian “booty scratchers” think twice ’cause had it not been for them you would still be picking cotton on a plantation somewhere.

While browsing the net, I happened to stumble across this video of some random guy going off on a rant about Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” lyrics. According to this cat, Jay-Z disses Jesus Christ in “Empire State of Mind” and ladies and gentlemen– he’s appalled. WTF?! First, they speculated Jay’s part of a secret society, then they even went as far as claiming that he’s a devil worshipper, but now alleging that he dissed Jesus Christ takes the cake! Seriously, give me a damn break! People need to stop over analyzing his lyrics…it’s just a damn song! And if Jay-Z is dissing Jesus, this is America where he’s awarded the same rights to free speech as any other Christ loving citizen in this country is. Here’s the line in question that has this guy all worked up:

“And Jesus can’t save you/Life starts when the church ends.”

So is Jay-Z really the Anti-Christ? Speak on it!

After missing every episode of 90210 since its season premiere, I decided to tune in last night to catch up. To my surprise, last night’s episode featured train wreck Lindsay Lohan’s on-and-off again DJ girlfriend Samantha Ronson and the N.E.R.D crew who performed their track “Radio (W.T.F)”–and killed it! However, while watching them on my high-definition 52 inch screen, I felt like something or rather someone was missing from the crew. Wondering who I’m talking about? Hint: She’s the Princess of Harlem and has really DopeLips (No homo)!

Last year, Teyana Taylor the self-proclaimed Princess of Harlem and protégé of N.E.R.D frontman Pharrell Williams hit the scene with her eclectic style and catchy debut song “Google Me”. However, a year later the Harlem native’s long-anticipated debut album From A Planet Called Harlem has yet to hit store shelves, which makes me wonder what’s going on with her music career? Teyana has been keeping herself busy chillin’ with Chris Brown & the bloggers, modeling and now her very own lip gloss line “DopeLips” in the works. But, what I’m curious to know is when will Teyana bless us with her sultry voice and dope dancing skills; thus embarking on her own stateside tour. Hell, has her BFF, Chris Brown, even given Ms. Taylor any shine on Graffiti?! We wonder…but one thing is for sure, Teyana definitely has the voice, body, style, and drive that would definitely put these other R&B b*tches to shame (ie: Ciara, Rihanna, and dare I say even Beyonce…) There’s definitely more to the Princess of Harlem than meets the eye, so when will fans finally be granted what they’ve been waiting for so long? According to her MySpace Page, she’s still signed under StarTrak/Interscope…but while the world is in a Rihanna and Beyonce frenzy, when will Ms. Taylor get her chance to shine?!

NOTE TO TEYANA STANS: Let me make it clear, in no way are we attacking Teyana. And Teyana if you’re reading this, please don’t take this as “another blog site talking sh*t about you”….we’re just concerned fans.
