Multi-talented and Julliard trained musician Josh X-an-tus will be taking NYC by storm performing his hits off his upcoming debut album Can I Live live at SOB’s on Thursday, August 27th!

A native New Yorker, Josh began playing piano at the tender age of 6, which then led to classical training at famed Julliard School of Music. He then went on to continue his education and earned a degree from Five Towns College, which notable alums include R&B songstress Chrisette Michelle, Julian Casablancas (The Strokes), Maroon 5’s Adam Levine and Jesse Carmichael. The public got its first taste of Josh via his single “Let’s Ride” featuring Jadakiss. The video was also featured on MTVU’s Top 10 countdown.

Josh X-an-tus is currently signed with independent label, M USA ENTERTAINMENT, who has distribution through major label EMI. Josh X-an-tus has clearly concocted a winning formula, making the answer to his rhetorical Can I Live question pretty obvious to all who give the album a spin. But in case you missed it, the answer is a resounding “Yes,” and he does it quite well.

Ever wondered what happened to Miss “Knuck If You Buck” aka Princess of Crime Mob?! Well, nowadays Princess is playing by her own rules! No longer does she have to deal with female cattiness and drama which loomed over her career during her Crime Mob days. Princess has her eyes set on the prize and recently dropped her new mixtape Dirty Pop Princess. Princess is ready to take on the world, not to mention she’s definitely a force to be reckoned with! So, what’s Princess been up to these days?! Well, in a recent interview with AllHipHop, Princess goes in depth about her hiatus from the music scene and why she’s yearning to spread her wings (musically). She says,

“I’m in the process of writing a poetry book. I’m in the gym. I’m doing everything behind the scenes, Acting classes, vocal classes. I feel like I can put music out but I don’t want to be seen until the right time. I got to get all my ducks in line. When I come back out its going to be Bam! This bitch grew up. Feel me? People are going to respect because there will be a big difference. I’m in the studio writing. I have a song on Killa Mike’s Album. I did a song with Bizarre recently. I’m doing a lot of other projects with a lot of other people who I cannot name because it is still in the works. I did some shows in Germany recently. I’m going to Japan for the Dirty Pop movement. They like the loud colors. Overseas loves it. I’m trying to get that overseas money.”

Princess opens up about wanting to leave her current label, Warner Bros. to go down the indie route. She says,

“What I can say is that I am in the process of leaving Warner Brothers. I pray about it everyday. Adding,“It’s not a disrespect but the urban market over there is two steps behind. I would rather go independent. Rather than be stuck on a label that wants to use you as a test dummy. Even though on both albums they got way more than their money back. As far as ring tones, downloads. I still would rather get distribution and move on. You don’t really need a label. You might as well work for yourself and go independent. I’m talking to two different independent labels now.”
