Dear Young America,

WE ARE IN A STATE OF EMERGENCY!!! YOU MUST REGISTER TO VOTE BY MONDAY
OCTOBER 6, 2008!!!!!

We are only 31 days from the most important election of our lifetime. MONDAY OCTOBER 6, 2008 IS THE DEADLINE. We are at war, banks are closing, people are losing their jobs and houses every day. It is our responsibility to protect our futures. Time is running out. You must register by Monday October 6th. Barack Obama cannot win this election on his own; he needs our help. This election is about us. This election is about our children’s future. If you have not registered to vote, you are disrespecting everyone that sacrificed their lives for you to have this right. You are also disrespecting your future.

The time is NOW for us to use the voices with which God has blessed us. We need you to do all you can. Here is what we need to do:

Register to vote BY MONDAY, OCTOBER 6th 2008
Get as many people as you can to register with you. Go to the poll and vote on November 4th

Barack Obama said it best, “Eight is Enough.” No longer will we stand by and follow leadership with no regard for us and no accountability to us.

We can be the deciding factor in this election, but you must register to vote to make your voice heard. Who are we? We are young America. This is our moment of truth. Are you registered for change? October 6th is only a few days away.

Make sure that on November 4th, we are able to say that we did everything in our power to make sure that Barack Obama becomes the next President of the United States. We owe this to our children, our parents, our grandparents and ourselves. We need you to become a part of Team Obama. This is the most important election in our lifetime.

LL Cool has a couple things he’d like to ask President Bush if he ever gets the chance. Following in the footsteps of Nas, Q-Tip and Jay-Z, the G.O.A.T has decided to take a couple shots at Bush in reference to his involvement in the Iraq War in a track entitled “Mr. President” which appears on his final Def Jam album, Exit 13 scheduled to drop in September.
He tells the NY Daily News,

“It’s all about what I’d like to ask [him]”. He adds, Mr. President, are you aware/Our flesh and blood is dying over there?/When the coffins come back, do you care?/When only the poor kids die, is it fair?/Don’t get me wrong. I respect the flag/But it hurts to see a kid in a body bag/He fought for his country with all he had/Now we have a family without a dad. Mr. President, are you aware unless you’re rich, you have poor health care/It makes you scream and want to pull out your hair/Discharged from the hospital soon as you get there.”

Now, you’re probably wondering if LL wants the Bush Administration to get a hold of his record? Well, according to him he really does. He adds (smirking),

“Tell me how to set that up, and I would be there in a heartbeat”.

Is LL pulling a Nas in hopes of pushing units?!

The world already knows that Jay-Z and Beyonce tied the knot back in April. Although they have both been spotted donning their wedding rings, neither Jay or Be have actually spoken publicly about the nuptials or even confirmed that a wedding took place. In this month’s issue of Vibe, Jay-Z defends his reason for not publicizing details of their private lives.

He says,

“I just think it’s really a part of your life that you gotta keep to yourself. You have to have something sacred to you and the people around you. I shared so much of my life, my childhood, and my family, the death of my nephew with the world. I should have something to hold on to. You need something for your sanity … to say, Okay, I could chill out, and this is it.”

In other Jay-Z news, the mogul has teamed up with NYC’s Mayor Bloomberg to kick off the Summer Streets program, an effort to transform the NYC’s congested streets into traffic-free playgrounds. Jay hopes that his involvement in the program will inspire teens to get involved in more positive activities. The program is scheduled to run every Saturday until August 23….so if you’re free in the coming saturdays to make it a point to enjoy the 7 mile block party.

This year’s presidential election definitely has Hip-Hop’s most respected names all riled up. The King of the South has also jumped on the voting bandwagon as the spokesperson for the Hip-Hop Caucus’s “Respect My Vote” campaign. Being a convicted felon has stripped T.I. of his right to vote, so he’s urging millions of Americans to turn out and vote to help elect a new president.
He says,

“I can’t vote. So I said, ‘OK, so if I’m going to have to be minus my own vote then the least I could do was urge the masses’. I can replace my vote with at least a million, two million others. This is one of the most significant elections of our lifetime. We must get out there and make our voices heard by voting. It’s negligent to sit around and watch an election pass by and not have an influence whatsoever on the outcome. That ain’t sexy”.

T.I. is really focused on improving his image…we’ll see if it works when Paper Trail drops.
