When it comes to marketing Diddy will come up with just about anything to make a buck! But, now he’s gone a bit too far and by that I mean using President-elect Barack Obama to sell his new men’s cologne “I am King“. “I am King” will hit stores next month and Diddy is hoping that the very same people who voted for Barack Obama will be more inclined to purchase his cologne.
“When you see Barack Obama, you see a strong, elegant black man and when people see my ad, it’s almost like that’s the trend,” he told The Wall Street Journal.
As for promoting the fragrance, Diddy is holding a luncheon in LA is hitting TV talk shows hard body. And of course Diddy is featured in the ads where he’s donned in a tuxedo on the French Riviera aboard a yacht, on jet skis and on helicopters.
When was the last time you’ve seen Barack on a yacht or a jet ski in the French Riviera?! Never…my point exactly! Wow, Diddy is seriously trying to capitalize on one of the most historic events in this country’s history by selling people a small ass and not to mention expensive bottle of scented agua! Real talk, whoever falls for this is a damn fool!
The LA Times reports the singer has already met with reps from DC Comics about starring in the flick, due out in 2011.
“A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It’s time for that, right?” she says. Knowles, who once pranced around in her underwear in an “Austin Powers” picture, has her work cut out for her if she hopes to squeeze into Lynda Carter’s iconic red, white and blue bathing suit. “I would definitely have to keep it right for that costume,” she says. In today’s edition of daily swagger Sasha Fierce battles Beyonce. I can’t deny I’ve doubted Beyonce’s ability to reinvent herself in the past. But clearly she’s proven me wrong with the promotion of her I Am…Sasha Fierce double album dropping November 18th. With that said which Beyonce are you feeling? Sasha’s got my vote…peep what Sasha can do! Beyonce can’t do that, lol…kiddies don’t try this at home!

Diddy partied it up last night with friends including Eve, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Tatyana Ali, Cassie and others for the October 2008 L’Uomo Vogue music issue he covers at 1 OAK in NYC. With all the vlogging Diddy does, I’m surprised he hasn’t made a special announcement regarding his latest accessory, an arm cast. What the happened, Puff?!

Talk about mogulness! Diddy just copped Enyce from Liz Claiborne, Inc. for $20 million. Claiborne originally purchased Enyce back in ’03 for $114 million, so yeah Enyce has definitely fell off. Do people even still rock Enyce?! Maybe with the help of Diddy Enyce will actually be something worth spending money on. Diddy issued a statement saying,
“Enyce is a brand that I have always admired, and they have been a very important player in the young men’s sportswear arena for over a decade. I am really excited to bring it into our portfolio of brands that already includes Sean John and Zac Posen. Given our track record of success in marketing products such as Ciroc Vodka, Unforgivable by Sean John, and all of our television titles, I look forward to adding our expertise to an already hot fashion line. Our long-term plan is to grow the Enyce brand through innovative marketing, expansion of the menswear and boy’s lines, and launching into new licensing categories”.
Despite the economy being f*cked up, Diddy is confident that his purchase was a great investment. He says,
“The current economic climate may be challenging, but we believe it is also an opportunity, and we are really excited to add Enyce to our lineup”.
50 Cent is following in the footsteps of Donald Trump & Diddy with his latest project an MTV reality show “The Money & The Power”. A fresh faced Mrs. Carter stopped by MTV’s TRL to promote her new album I Am along with her 2 new singles. She also confirmed the album will be a double disc collection including Beyoncé (pop) and her alter-ego Sasha (urban).Here’s what she had to say on TRL.
On younger sister Solange Knowles:
“On my album, she wrote co-wrote two of the songs. She’s grown so much. I watch her and I’m so proud of her. She’s always going to be my baby.”
On Solange’s son Daniel Julez Smith, Jr. :
“My nephew’s 4th birthday is in a couple of days (October 18) in Houston, so I’m going to go out and see them… Oh, I spoil him. I get him whatever he wants!”
Lack of collaborations on album:
“I just wanted people to get to know me and the two extremes of my personality. Once the album comes out, you’ll completely understand. You can kind of see with the videos. One is my alter ego (Sasha) and the other one is really intimate and emotional. The album is kind of split into two, it’s a double album.”
Knowles is set to perform on the TRL finale on November 16th @ 8pm, so be sure to tune in.
