Check out Vibe’s new cover for their exclusive “Real Rap” issue out July 2nd, an entire issue dedicated to hip hop both past and present. And for the first time Hip hop superstar Young Jeezy gets the spotlight. Jeezy opens up about music, politics, and yes…Keyshia.
Jeezy on Politics:
“Although he recently endorsed Senator Barack Obama, Jeezy comments on meeting presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain [on the set of SNL]: “No disrespect to my man Barack but I f— with John McCain. He greeted me like a G…The fact that he acknowledged me was crazy…I like Barack, but at the same time I wanted to see what McCain was talking about.”
Jeezy on Keyshia Cole:
“To be honest, it was more what she wanted. She was cool and we had a cool friendship. The media made it out to be something crazy. We kicked it. We hung out. Thing is, you can’t be cool with somebody you wanna be cool with [without the media thinking it’s a relationship]…I was grown enough to tell her, Look baby, that isn’t what it is right now.”
Is he serious?! I know he don’t think we’re gonna buy his “I rejected her” excuse. I can’t believe he’s trying to play it off actin’ like he didn’t fall hard for Keyshia. Realtalk, why are men such damn punks when it comes to discussing real emotions, especially in relation to the L-word. C’mon niccas, grow some, and man up and stop frontin’!
Anywhoo, I digress…be sure to cop Vibe’s new issue where they also address “19 reasons to be excited about rap music,” and give respect to the ladies of hip hop, then and now. Definitely an interesting read…
Kimora Lee recently kicked it with Giant magazine and shared this mess:
“I hear the craziest things, like, ‘She has to have a champagne glass filled within a quarter inch of the lip,’ ” says Simmons, who dismisses any notion that she might be an “extreme diva.”
“The reality, is I’m a dedicated mother [to daughters Ming Lee, 8, and Aoki Lee, 5] and a very kind, funny and hardworking person,” she says. “My reality-TV show helps to shed a bit of light, but even that’s glamorized.”
Ultimately, she says, she doesn’t care what others think of her, though “sometimes people who don’t know me say really cruel things that are way off base. But you can’t care too much about what people think of you. You have to establish your own set of core values and live by them”
And those core values? “Honor, respect, tenacity, intelligence and humor,” she says, adding, “Do your best, and live with the repercussions of your choices – good or bad.”
Hold up! She forgot one very important value…bag a rich mogul, milk a clothing line outta him, pop out some babies, and gold dig ya way to the top. Now that’s the key to fabolusity, right? I’m mad this broad is painting herself out to be some sort of high class soccer mom…child please!
The bootilicious 5 foot 9 tennis champ stunner, Serena Williams, graces the cover of EBONY magazine’s July issue. Williams kicked with EBONY magazine in Malibu, Calif., for an exclusive cover shoot to discuss dating, the Olympics, and how she keeps her stellar physique in tip-top condition. Check out these tips she shares on her how she stays fit by indulging in scrumptious salads, which include feta cheese, candied walnuts and strawberries.
“It’s too hot in the summer to cook, so I love to grill chicken and fish,” she adds. “I also love to grill vegetables and serve them chilled.” When asked about her romantic link to recording artist Common, Serena had this to say, “I think he’s a great guy. He’s obviously a great artist who is timeless and classic. You can’t beat that. But I have to focus on tennis because that’s my goal in life.”
This may sound a tad bit bland but to score a body like that takes major work and the work is definitely paying off, hence her man bagging skills…Common, anyone? Anywhoo, be sure to cop the issue which hits stands nationwide Monday, June 9th.
On another note, is it me or just a bad angle…Did they photoshop shrink Serena’s dereon?? Either she’s still workin’ the hell outta that purple-clad bikini.

Since the release of his highly anticipated album Here I Stand, Usher’s face has been popping up everywhere. Now, fans can find him on the July cover of Vibe magazine’s first-ever Swagger issue. Usher gets personal with Vibe as he opens up about his controversial marriage, fatherhood and his bold decision to fire his mother as his manager….blah, blah, same mess.
He says, “My mother is an aggressive person. She makes hard decisions, and she caused me to make a hard decision as well”. However, he doesn’t consider letting his mom go as his a manager firing her. In his eyes, he paid her the “ultimate compliment– to retire her to be a full-time grandmother. My mother and I decided to change her situation. There was a conversation. I didn’t write her a letter or pink slip her.”
According to Usher, his mother’s decision to not attend his wedding to Tameka Foster last August really hit him hard.”I hurt more than anything over these last two years when I felt my mother didn’t really embrace my situation,” he admits. However, his marriage and the birth of his son Usher Raymond V have boosted his level of confidence. He says, “The swagger I possess now definitely comes from my wife. And my son completes me. He changes my perspective on what life is, and what matters… These are the days of my son’s life, these first three years. I want to be there. The challenge is having it all”.
Be sure to cop the new issue and get more insight into Usher’s personal life. On another note, why is VIBE now addressing “B2K! Immature (IMX?)! The Truth About Boybands”…really, are they still relevant? And don’t we all the know the truth about these boy bands…Chris Stokes f*cked them all!

Check out The Source’s suicidal issue for July 2008 featuring The Game. Meanwhile, XXL opted for a less dramatics by putting Florida’s rap heavy weights on the cover for their July 2008 issue. RealTalk, do you people still read The Source?? Is their lame attempt at pushing numbers??…As for Rick Ross and his greasy chocolatey belly- Imma need him to stop the shirtless photo ops.
