Looks like shots are going to be ringing in the hood ’cause former Bad Boy artist Shyne is finally coming home! After serving eight years of a ten year prison bid, Shyne is scheduled to be released from the pen on October 6th of this year. You may remember that back in 2001, Shyne was sentenced to ten years in prison after being found guitly of first-degree assault following a shooting in December 1999 at Club New York in NYC which left one clubgoer with a bullet in her face. In April of this year, Shyne appeared in court for a parole hearing and was hoping to be released early, but the judge showed no mercy. Following yesterday’s hearing his attorney Oscar Michelin told MTV,

“He’s about 90 percent of the way home now”.

During the court hearing, Shyne expressed to the judge that he was “grateful”. Shyne is expected to serve the rest of his sentence at the Sullivan Correctional Facility in Fallsburg, NY.

Glad to hear Shyne’s coming home! He’s been in the pen since he was 22 and it’s all Diddy’s fault!

Remy Ma like Lil’ Kim is learning the hard way about what happens when keeping it real goes wrong! Being locked up “is really not a place you would ever want to be whether for 8 years, 8 months, or 8 minutes.” Remy Ma seems to now understand the consequences to her actions, so much so, she “wouldn’t wish this on [her] worst enemy…”
Pop the top for more of Remy’s prison diaries…

I always find myself thinking about what I was doing a year ago, two years ago, five years ago today. I never remember exactly where till I find myself imagining where I would be today. I rarely listen to the radio because it’s sort of depressing. Not being able to record is stressful not because I’m a rapper but because that was my way of venting and expressing myself. So I write a lot! So much that now I have a callous on my finger from holding a pen. I guess I got used to texting my rhymes!

I get a lot of fan mail and everyone asks me how I’m doing? I say fine, the way I see it I never imagined making it this far with my sanity. Not being able to go somewhere when you want, see your family when you want (on many occasions when you need to), can’t use the phone, take a shower, wear clothes, or even eat when you want – super aggravating. Whenever, which is almost everyday I get visits, a lot of kids ask for autographs. It’s something that I used to do almost everyday but now it actually feels weird, I really feel like an inmate.
And as much as I hate to admit it, I really am an inmate. I mean, it kind of grows on you when certain people go out of there way to make you feel like that.

They have this program called YAP (Youth Assistance Program) they keep asking me to join. It’s a program that brings inner city kids to the prison to show them what it’s like to be incarcerated. I hear that every group asks about me but I’m a little hesitant to join. They think it will give the kids a reality check that this can happen to anyone.

I however feel that it’ll be more of the kids wanting to see Remy Ma the rapper and because of that they won’t get that I’m actually in jail. So I’m still contemplating. If I figure out a way for them to actually get it, that this is really not a place you would ever want to be whether for 8 years, 8 months, or 8 minutes then I’ll do it.

Everyone in prison isn’t innocent but everyone in prison isn’t guilty. So whether you end up here on purpose or by accident, the pain you’re feeling is still the same. And I can quote a lot “gangsters” by saying that “I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy…”

    Forever Innocent,

Looks like Diddy better watch his back ‘cause Shyne might be out of jail as early as April after serving eight years of a ten year stint for first degree assault and reckless endangerment. Back in 2001, Shyne was convicted of the charges following a shooting in December 1999 at Club New York in NYC which left victim, Natania Reuben with serious injuries to her face. Shyne currently spends his days at Woodbourne Correctional Facility in Sullivan County, NY, however he’s been spending majority of his free time by participating in educational activities. According to his lawyer, Oscar Michelen, Shyne is due back in court for a parole hearing in June, but claims that Shyne could be a free man even sooner. He says,

“We’re hoping for April. He’s had no problems, been very positive. There’s a dinner in honor of African-American History Month so Barrow’s participating in that. And he’s also coordinating, getting some speakers to talk about how things have affected the criminal justice system in the last few years. So he’s always been involved in many positive things at the jail and has never had a problem at all whatsoever. So he’d be the perfect candidate for parole. The only knock against him was that he was convicted of a crime that was considered a violent crime”.

Hopefully everything works out for Shyne. It’s unfortunate that his career came to a screeching hault after getting mixed up in this drama. I wonder if Diddy even visited him in the pen?!

LexAve: I highly doubt Diddy even cares…he’s only about one thing and one thing only HIMSELF!

One would think that Yung Berg would learn from DMX’ mistakes, but nah he’s just another dumb “celebrity” fiending to be in the spotlight. Apparently, Yung Turd got into it with a limo driver in NYC and the driver retaliated by calling the police on his ass. Snitches say that the driver reported a dispute with 5 passengers and when the cops came to investigate, the complaint they came across more than just a yelling match. The NYPD hit Yung Turd up with a sh*t load of charges which include criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of marijuana and menacing. I’m telling you ever since he made that “NO DARK BUTTS” comment, he’s been falling off! Karma is a B*TCH!

When are these rappers going to smarten up?!?

Just when you thought life couldn’t get any worse for Remy Ma, the judge reviewing her case has sentenced her to 8 years in the pen for shooting her ex-BFF. Well, she kinda got a light sentence being that she could have faced up to 25 years in prison. Apparently, Remy was crying her eyes out after she heard the sentence. She states,

“Throughout this unfortunate case, I was advised from my attorney to stay silent but now I want you all to see me for me and what I’ve gone through. Reporters and newspapers have called me a ‘hardcore rapper,’ a ‘hip-hop harlot’—Remy Ma is just a music industry name. A facade. I’m not a thug. I’m not a hardcore anything. I have feelings. I’m Remy Smith—No, I’m Remy Mackie. I’m a wife, mother, daughter and big sister.”

Now, the person who was really hit hard after hearing the sentence was her boo, Papoose. All hell broke out when his ass heard what the judge had to say. Dude began screaming as his goons tried to restrain him,

“Get the fuck off me. Fuck ya’ll. Fuck jail. It’s all about money.”

He then shouted to court officers, who escorted his ass to a nearby elevator and out of the Manhattan Supreme Court,

“I don’t care. Lock me up. Lock me up. Take me to jail. Arrest me. “

As for the victim, Makeda Barnes Joseph, she was in the courtroom for the sentencing, but she wasn’t on the scene when Papoose went mad.

Poor Remy, ya did the crime…now ya gotta do the time! She wasn’t talking all that humble mess when started poppin’ off on her BFF. Too little, too late. But on another note-Papoose must be really sprung to wild out like this- now that’s gangsta lovin’! Remy may be going in but don’t forget who’s coming home…SHYNE.
