Say it ain’t so Mario! Earlier this morning, R&B singer Mario was arrested in Baltimore for allegedly assaulting his mother in their apartment. According to TMZ, Mario’s mother Shawntia Hardaway told five-0 that he had been “throwing and damaging property” and also pushed her around a few times. The cops also found a few broken items inside the apartment–including a broken china cabinet, a busted mirror and a hole in the closet door. And it seems like this isn’t the first time Mario has put his hands on his mother. She also told the cops that he attacked her earlier this week, pushing her “eight feet into a living room wall”, which caused her to hit her head on the wall. WOW…I’m speechless!

I’m at a loss for words. Can’t believe this is the same Mario who made it his goal to help kick his mother’s heroine addiction. Damn, what made homeboy snap?

Believe it or not, prison is becoming Hip-hop’s number one hot spot. Last year, T.I. went in and most recently the p*ssy monster Lil Wayne is currently doing a bid as well. Now I don’t want to predict another rapper getting locked up, but you can probably expect Ja Rule to call a 6×8 cell his home if he doesn’t get his case dropped. Back in 2007, the Queen’s rapper was pulled over by the Hip-hop police while cruising the streets of NYC on suspicion of speeding, having a suspended registration and driving without insurance. While, Ja Rule probably thought he was going to walk away with just a ticket, the feds got lucky and found a gun hidden in his whip. Earlier today, the rapper’s lawyer Stacey Richman returned to court to request another hearing to discuss the problems surrounding the prosecution’s DNA evidence, but her motion was denied and a trial was set for August 18^th instead. Although, Ja Rule has pleaded not guilty to the gun charge, if convicted he faces up to four years in the pen.

Ja Rule has been fighting this gun charge for three years and with the way the Hip-hop police have been on their grind…I see jail time in his future. #Imjustsayin

You can now retire your “Free Gucci” t-shirt ’cause he’s coming home! On Monday, Angie Martinez announced that Gucci Mane will be performing at this year’s Summer Jam and will be walking out of the pen as a free man on Wednesday, May 12th.  The rapper served seven months of a one year bid for violating his probation. Let’s just hope his a$$ doesn’t slip up and get locked up…again!

Last week, the p*ssy monster aka Lil Wayne had the Internet going crazy with his first letter written behind bars titled “Gone Til November”. As you all are aware, the rapper is currently doing a bid for a gun charge. Now that he has a quite a lot of time on his hands, he’s using his hours, minutes, and seconds to sift through his fan mail. After reading this letter, I’ve come to the conclusion that it has PR Stunt written all over it! For one, the tone doesn’t even sound like Lil Wayne. Seems like this is just a ploy to keep people talking. I really want to believe that he wrote the letter…but I just can’t.

He’s responsible for keeping your favorite rappers icy, but since 2008 life for the Hip-hop jeweler has been playing out like a verse out of his customers songs.  Jacob the Jeweler whose real name is Jacob Arabov got caught up in BMF’s drama and slipped up badly. He was sent to the pen for 2 1/2 years  after lying to the feds who were inquiring about BMF’s money laundering scheme. While behind bars, Jacob has been on his best behavior and as a reward the judge decided to cut his sentence by seven months. The Hip-hop jeweler is schedule to be released some time in September, but until then he is spending his days at a halfway house.

Yesterday, we reported that this past weekend sh*t got a lil’ crazy at NY prison Rikers Island. For those of you who aren’t aware, this is the same prison where p*ssy monster aka Lil Wayne currently rests his head. A snitch revealed to MTV News that Weezy was not involved in the brawl that sent inmates and prison guards to the hospital. Word is Lil Wayne is actually “doing well and he’s adapting to the situation”. The snitch also shut down rumors that the rapper got into a scuffle with another inmate just days after he got in the joint.

“That’s a rumor I heard, but nothing substantiated,” the snitch said.

The snitch went on to confirm what has been speculated–Lil Wayne is in protective custody.

“While he’s walking the hallways, he’s told not to communicate with these guys. So they’re a bit disgruntled because he’s not hollering back”, adds the snitch.

So there’s no need to worry Weezy fans ’cause not only was ya boy unharmed, but he’s also chillin’!

What do DMX, Lil Wayne and Gucci Mane all have in common?…besides the fact that they’re all rappers of course! Well, they all have a tough time staying out of trouble. As for Gucci Mane and DMX, these two fools just can’t keep themselves out of prison. Last year, Gucci Mane was on his way to mainstream stardom, hitting the studio with diva Mariah Carey and a few other big names in the music biz while cranking out his own hits– but he put a dent in his career by getting locked up…again! Now his new home/studio is a 6×8 prison cell in Georgia where he’s currently doing a six month bid after violating his probation last year. In a recent interview with The Associated Press, Gucci admits that not only has he finally learned his lesson, but he can’t wait to get out of the pen. He says,

“Unfortunately I’ve been to jail a couple times. Anytime I come in it’s difficult to make music, write songs. This time, I have a peace within me. I’ve been so excited to get out. I’ve written about 50 to 60 songs”. Adding, “Before I make an action, think about the consequences. … Any decision I make is a heavy decision. I got a lot of people who depend on me. Everything I do has so much weight on it”.

And as for all the paper he’s lost while being locked up, he’s certain that he’ll make it all back.

“With money and selling CDs, I can always do that. I believe I can make all the money I’ve missed the last six months. But I can’t regain the time with fans and family.”

In related news, Gucci Mane plans to drop his new mixtape The BurrPrint 2HD on April 13th which features Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, Jim Jones, Waka Flocka, OJ The Juice, Trey Songz and more.

I hope that once he’s released his a$$ doesn’t end up behind bars…again! What ever happened to the three strikes law?

Now that Young Money’s captain Lil Wayne’s new home is a 6×8 prison cell,  Drake has decided to step up to the plate  while Weezy’s gone to make sure their ship doesn’t sink. He tells MTV,

“I’m gonna do everything I told him I would do, what I said in the song: keep us afloat till he gets back. You won’t even notice he’s gone. Promise.”

He goes on to praise his boss–calling him a “legend”.

“Lil Wayne is a legend,” Drake said. “I could never classify Wayne as victim. He’s too strong to me. Wayne is who he wants to be. People don’t understand. It’s really not an act. Lil Wayne is a character you’ll rarely run across, probably for the existence of human beings. He is that guy. He is Lil Wayne for a reason. He’s a rock star, a visionary, a workaholic. He doesn’t function like anybody I know. He’s a rare breed.

Poor D’Angelo just can’t get a break! It’s bad enough that the brotha hasn’t put out an album in 10 years and now he’s gotten himself caught up with the law…again. The R&B singer was arrested this past weekend in NYC for allegedly trying to holla at a prostitute. Word is D’Angelo was driving alone in his decked out Range Rover when he spotted a chick he thought was a prostitute and offered her $40 to give him some “becky”. Unfortunately for him, shorty was far from a prostitute–instead she had an NYPD badge! Cops found $12,000 in cash stashed in his whip as well. WOW…we thought ol’ boy was broke!

His mouthpiece declined to comment…story is still developing.
