As the highly aniticipated 2008 MTV Video Music Award gets started, StraightOuttaNYC is providing live blogging. Don’t forget you can speak ya peace on all going ons before, during, and after the show.
8:00pm MTV VMA opening act begins. MTV stepped it up by providing an MTV news chopper and a celebrity navigation system in each limo to track all the arrivals.
8:05 T.I. is up first working a velvet preppy ensemble…he looks a bit uncomfortable
8:06 VJ Sway chops it up with Katy Perry and apparently she’s got a special guest in company, hmm…
8:08 Tokio Hotel? Huh?!
8:15 T-Pain makes his grand entrance on a damn elephant…WTF?!
8:17 Taylor Swift looks a bit weird interviewing Pink…did she just call her dress “amazing”? Really?!

8:34 America’s Best Dance Crew battles it Out. Unfortunately I don’t follow the show…I can only watch but so many dancing shows, but my vote is with the first crew dancing it out to Ne-Yo’s “Closer”…FIRE! Lupe co-signs!
