Last night, the 82nd Annual Academy Awards went down in Los Angeles, CA and Hollywood’s finest were definitely in the building! Dominicana Zoe Saldana and Boricua Jennifer Lopez held it down on the red carpet for the Latinas. Don’t get me wrong Zoe looked absolutely stunning, but her dress reminded me of a tropical bird of some sort. As for Jennifer she worked the sh*t out of that pale pink Armani Prive dress. Which Oscar’s chick do you think killed it on the red carpet?

We’re back with another edition of Daily Swagger. Our favorite beauties Cassie and Rihanna have been out and about overseas all week. While Cassie was spotted globe trotting and sight seeing the beautiful art in Paris, France alongside her boo Diddy, Rihanna worked the red carpet doing her best “Gumby” impersonation a the Echo Awards in Berlin, Germany. Even on Cassie’s worst hair day/laundry day, she still looks like she stepped out of the pages of fashion magazine. As for Rihanna in this green get up, was sort of a bust. Had it not been for the boob action…this outfit is just Blah! But don’t let our critique lead you stray, which chick worked it best?!

Over the weekend, our fav. songstress Melanie Fiona was locked up in her apartment sick as a dog. Nonetheless she OD’d on some tea and got on the web cam to belt out her rendition of Bob Marley’s song “Redemption Song”…the same song Rihanna butchered on The Oprah Show last week. Check the clips below and you be the judge.

DAILY SWAGGER: BOSS B*TCH VS. BARBIE: RAP CHICKS BATTLE IT OUT!

In this edition of Daily Swagger, Boss B*tch Angel “Lola” Monroe and Barbie Nicki Minaj battle it out! Earlier this month, “Lola Monroe” pulled out her claws and attacked Nicki Minaj’s calling her a “basic” chick. Here’s what she had to say:

“I don’t do the Barbie thing — that’s her thing. I really don’t agree with it, that’s basic. It doesn’t make sense to me because first off, you’re basically saying I’m jacking somebody who has never been known to have their style all throughout their career. She’s never been set to have her own style. It’s always been set to say she’s jacking Lil’ Kim to Foxy [Brown] and now Lil Wayne.”

It’s clear that both chicks are trying to reign as Hip-hop’s leading lady, but there’s only room for one! Now, Lola Monroe has her aSSets, but Nicki is backed by Lil Wayne and his team. Not to mention Nicki’s collaborated with some of Hip-hop’s biggest names and even gotten a nod from Jay-Z! Lola talks about swagger jacking, but if I’m not mistaken she thinks she’s the black Marilyn Monroe and Nicki’s “Barbie” act just makes me nauseous. Honestly, I can’t take either of these chicks seriously, but whose bars are earworthy?!

Sidebar: I’m surprised Mattel hasn’t hit Nicki with a lawsuit yet.

DAILY SWAGGER: DIRECTOR’S CUT: LITTLE X vs HYPE WILLIAMS

Check out the original video for Common’s “Universal Mind Control” abover directed by Lil’ X. Clearly the label was feeling Hype Williams version better and trashed Lil’ X’s work.
Sure Hype Williams’ piece has way more graphic effects and computer generated knick-knack, but what I like about Lil’ X’s is the dancing component, especially at the end of the video where Common busts out in a lil’ break dance. Maybe if the finalized video had a little bit of both versions, maybe it would’ve received way more music video rotation….I’m just sayin’. But we gotta ask who’s finalized work are you feelin’?!

It was a full blown stare down at the US Weekly’s “25 Most Stylish New Yorkers” annual event last week. Kanye’s new chick and his ex-chick showed up like look-a-likes rocking all black skin tight gear. According to a spy, “They were seated across the room from each other, but in direct eyeshot. They kept throwing each other dirty looks all night.”
Clearly there’s underlining beef between the dames…wonder if its all due to Mr. Louis Vutton Don. Aside the cattiness, we gotta ask who rocked the red carpet best, Amber or Alexis?

Grammy winning and chart topper John Legend woo’d his way into the hearts of America and not to mention many of it’s ladies, but now there’s some fresh young blood on come up, Trey Songz. Since making his debut in 2005, Trey Songz has generated major buzz thanks to his mixtapes and love making tunes. He’s also getting many young chicks hot and bothered…as well the older gals. But who’s sex appeal garners the most “He Can Get It” votes, John Legend and his lusciousness or Trey Songz and his undeniable sex appeal?

So I came across a video of Amerie doing her modeling bit for Giant Magazine. And couldn’t help but notice just how thin Amerie’s gotten. Granted the girl’s never been a thicky thick chick, but remember that “One Thing” video where her legs were defined and toned. Now she’s looking model thin…something like Cassie. In fact, the more I play the video below the more I see Cassie. Yet somehow Amerie stands in her own lane…could it be the fact she’s got talent and has a personality unlike Cassie. Either way who’s more a stunner Amerie or Cassie?!

The Knowles sisters were out in Japan to promote the new Samantha Thavasa Disney Collection. Beyonce as usual rocked her golden locks, while Solange debuted her cropped shaped up look. But who’s swag are you feelin? Beyonce’s fashion rut or Solange’s risk taking duds?!

Since I recently chopped off all my curly locks for a shorter slicker look, I’m all about Solange’s natural short ‘do!

Not to mention Solange’s tighter shoe game… is enough to make her the winner in this edition of daily swagger.
