Whatever happened to the female voice in Hip-hop?! It’s bad enough that the Hip-hop genre is a joke, but what’s worse is the drought of female MC’s. And for that very same reason, femcee pioneer Queen Latifah is on a mission to find the next biggest thing in Hip-hop since Lil’ Kim and Foxy Brown! Thus, the Queen is embarking on a nationwide search for new talent—because quite frankly there aren’t enough chicks in the game. She says,

“In my entire career… never has it been so male dominated as it is right now. I would be doing an injustice if I don’t try to help bring up the next up-and-coming female rappers… It’s just not right to have hip-hop with no female voices anymore.”

She adds,

“There was (M.C.) Lyte, Salt-N-Pepa, Lil’ Kim, Foxy Brown, Missy (Elliot)… Eve, and now there’s like one person, maybe. So far I have 25 dates booked, 25 different cities, and so I want to discover the new female rapper or the new female rap group.”

Back in April, Diddy launched the Faces of the Future contest online in search of finding new faces for his Fall 2009 Sean John campaign. After receiving 10,000 entries, only two winners made the cut, Jeffrey Miller (left) from California and Antonio Cannon (right) from Chicago were chosen to be the new faces of Sean John. The other fine a$$ male model featured in the ad, Richard Harrison was already a professional model. Can’t you tell?! According to Dao-Yi Chow, Creative Director and Vice-President of Marketing at Sean John,

Here’s a new track from Dominican mami,  Kat DeLuna entitled “Dance Bailalo” which is rumored to be the second single on her upcoming album Inside Out scheduled to drop Summer ‘09. The producers over at VH1 need to be shot for coming up with this bullish. They’ve come up with yet another bootleg version of the “Bachelor”, but this time the suitor is none other than Brandy’s horny lil’ brother, Ray J.
