“I’m not convinced they [Kanye & Alexis] are truly, totally over.” West and Phifer have been together on and off since 2002. “They have had their ups and downs,” the friend said, “and, sure, things aren’t working for them now. But I still think at some point Kanye will realize this is a great girl. She knew him before he had really hit it big — though he was on his way. Snitches in Swizz Beats camp are claiming the super producer and his wife, Mashonda, are DONE! The couple were married for about 4 years and have a son together. Supposedly the pair have been going at each other’s throats for a minute now. Here’s the official statement sent to AHH:

It’s official! Kanye West and Alexis Phifer called off their engagement. Kanye West’s fiancée of 18 months, Lex, confirms the breakup to People.com.

“It’s always sad when things like this end, and we remain friends,” Phifer reportedly told People.com. “I wish him the best in his future and all of his endeavors. He’s one of the most talented people I’ve ever met.”

The designer ex-girlfriend was spotted on the red carpet sans her engagement ring & Kanye at an “Evenings in Vogue” event on last Thursday night in New York. Totally missed that one!

Remember the pair exchanged vows on some private island on New Year’s day at Bora Bora and later planned on the legally binding ceremony upon returning to the U.S…but that never went down. Snitches claimed their honeymoon got off to a rough start with Eddie straight doggin’ Tracey.

It was a matter of time before Victoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks realized just how corny Nick Cannon is and dropped his sorry ass! Nick and his former fiancée, Selita Ebanks, are now not getting married. Word is they decided split up and focus on their own careers. That’s code for the sex was wack and I’m too good for him! 

“Selita and Nick are taking a break to focus on their careers but still very much love each other and remain the best of friends,” says her rep, Melissa Raubvogel. Cannon’s rep declined to comment.
