Check out part 2 of Rihanna’s indepth interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer in which she goes into detail about the night Ike Jr. assaulted her. She admits what we already knew– a text message from I’m presuming another chick led to their heated argument and unfortunately left her with a battered face.

Earlier today, Chris Brown issued a statement to MTV about Rihanna’s decision to finally break her silence about the beatdown incident.

“While I respect Rihanna’s right to discuss the specific events of February 8, I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us. I do appreciate her support and wish her the best. I am extremely sorry for what I did, and I accept accountability for my actions. At this point, I am taking the proper steps to learn about me and grow from my mistakes. I only hope that others in similar situations can learn from our experience as well. Abuse of any kind is always wrong. The rest I leave it to God.”

ANY THOUGHTS?!

Now that both Rihanna and Chris Brown are making comebacks after their tumultuous relationship came to an end earlier this year, it’s only right that their teams go hard with heavy promo. Right? But something tells me that the ex-lovebirds are going head to head in a battle over album sales. Surprisingly after months of keeping mum about the incident, Rihanna has finally decided to break her silence about that tragic night in February which turned her world upside down. But why now? From a candid interview with Glamour Magazine and an in depth interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer scheduled to air on Thursday and Friday on GMA at 7 a.m., followed by an extended interview Friday on 20/20 at 10 p.m. ET.–is Rihanna really trying to get some closure by becoming a “spokeswoman” of some sort for victims of domestic violence or is she simply trying to sell some records? Meanwhile, her abuser’s interview with MTV is set to air on Friday as well at 6 p.m. ET. Is this all just a coincidence? I don’t think so!

“My thoughts [when I look back on it now] is like, why did it happen?” he told MTV News correspondent Sway during an hour-long, one-on-one interview that took place in Brown’s native Virginia. “Like, what was I thinking? What is wrong with you? That’s what I’m thinking with myself. That’s what my thoughts are, basically, now. It’s like, how do we get past it? How do you, Chris — talking to myself — how do you go from point A to point B? How do you learn from your mistakes, turn it into a positive and help other people with the situation and at the end of the day become the person that you want to be?”

A while back it was rumored that the Louis Vuitton Don aka Kanye West quit rapping for singing after he switched up his sound for his latest album, 808s and Heartbreak. Well, if that were true Kanye would definitely need to take a few singing lessons. According to his protégé Mr. Hudson, ‘Ye is actually back in the studio spittin’ rhymes for a traditional hip-hop record. He says,

“Kanye’s getting back into rapping. He might make an old-school record on a tape deck, just like the Beastie Boys used to do. Just a drum machine, ghetto blaster and a microphone.”

Meanwhile, Busta Rhymes’ pockets have just gotten a little lighter as he’s been ordered to pay $75,000 to a fan he allegedly assaulted in 2003. Busta’s alleged beatdown victim, Alex Duncan accused the rapper and his bodyguard of whoopin’ his ass during a break at the rapper’s concert in Albany, NY. Duncan won the case due to an emotional testimony in which he claimed the ass whoopin’ was so severe that he suffered from anxiety attacks and nightmares ever since. Busta tells the NY Post,

“I don’t even go to parties anymore, because there’s always someone asking, ‘What happened to that Busta Rhymes case?’”

Before Ike Jr. aka Chris Brown whooped Rihanna’s ass, he had a pretty big endorsement deal with Wrigley’s Double Mint Gum. Apparently, Wrigley’s didn’t want their product to be associated with a woman beater, so they eventually scrapped the campaign and dropped Chris after he pled guilty to assaulting RiRi. Word is after all the money and time they wasted on Chris, Wrigley wants it all back! 

Chris Brown hasn’t heard the last of Wrigley Doublemint Gum.  He had a very lucrative contract with Wrigley and his ad campaign was not only successful, it produced his hit song “Forever.” Chris had apparently signed up for another five year stint with Wrigley and finished a number of commercials when the Rihanna incident happened. Wrigley pulled his ads and fired Chris. Now they are said to be preparing to sue Chris for all the money they lost due to his bad behavior. They spent big bucks on ads featuring Chris along with other celebrities like JayZ and Mariah Carey. Since Chris was in them also – everything had to be ditched. Wrigley is mad and we hear they hope to recoup the money Chris caused them to lose with a big fat lawsuit.

In related Ike Jr. news, Chris wants to thank all of his loyal fans for supporting him throughout the Rihanna beatdown drama by putting on a “fan appreciation tour”.

Poor Ike Jr. aka Chris Brown will be spending less time in the studio and more time picking up trash on the streets of Virginia as part of his punishment for beating up Rihanna. YUCK! Chris’ new job description also entails removing graffiti and washing cars. Yesterday, was Chris’ first day on the job and the young’n hopped on Twitter to share his excitement with fans.

I can’t even front, Chris looks good in his community service get-up. The color orange suits him very well!

Rihanna has yet to speak about the gruesome beatdown ex-boo Chris Brown gave her in February; opting to play it cool hoping talk about the situation would eventually diminish. While, Chris has been very vocal about the tragic incident from his “I’m Not A Monster…” video, interviews and his appearance on CNN’s Larry King Live. Well, it appears that The Good Girl Gone Bad is finally going to speak out about the beatdown drama— on wax. According to Ne-Yo, Rihanna’s getting all her anger out in the booth. He tells E!,

“Expect an edgier, almost angrier Rihanna on this one. Rihanna says some things on this album that you’ve never heard her say before.”

Should Chris be scared?!

After a 30 second clip of Ike Jr. aka Chris Brown’s exclusive interview with CNN’s Larry King hit the internet in which he admitted to having no recollection of assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna back in February, the singer is now trying his best to do damage control.  In a statement issued to TMZ, he says,

“There have been reports on the internet that I didn’t remember what happened that night with Rihanna. I want to try and set thing straight. Adding, “That 30 seconds of the interview they used of me was taken from a one hour interview during which that same question was asked something like 4 or 5 times—and when you look at the entire interview you will see it is not representative of what I said. The first four times or how ever many times it was—I gave the same answer—which was that I didn’t think it was appropriate for me to talk about what happened that night. I said it was not right for me and it really wasn’t fair to Rihanna. The fifth time or whatever it was I just mis-spoke. I was asked, ‘Do you remember doing it?’ and I said, ‘No.’ “Of course I remember what happened. I t was and still is a blur. And yes, I still can’t believe it happened because it is not me or who I am or is what happened like anything I have ever done before.”

Meanwhile, Chris is trying to distance himself from comparisons of his abusive stepfather, insisting that the beatdown he gave Rihanna was an isolated incident and that he’s not an abuser. With regards to his stepfather, he tells People magazine,

“I feel like he enjoyed it. He was abuser. It was continuous.”

Hmm…interesting! So just because he didn’t enjoy whoopin’ Rihanna’s ass that doesn’t make him an abuser?! Why is Chris even speaking out about the incident six months after the fact?!

“I made a mistake,” he said. “And it was just something I have to live up and own.”

However, CNN obtained a probation report for Brown last week that said he and Rihanna were involved in at least two other domestic violence incidents before the February attack for which Brown was sentenced.

“The first incident occurred in Europe about three months before the present offense,” the report said.

“The victim [Rihanna] and the defendant [Brown] were involved in a verbal dispute and the victim [Rihanna] slapped the defendant [Brown]. He responded by shoving her into a wall.”

Another incident happened in January, three weeks before the Hollywood incident, when Brown and Rihanna were visiting her home country of Barbados, the report said.

“The defendant [Brown] and the victim [Rihanna] were visiting Barbados and were driving a Range Rover loaned to them by a local dealership,” the investigator wrote. “They had an argument inside the car. The defendant [Brown] exited and broke the front driver and passenger side windows of the car.” Source
