STR8 TALK: CAN HOES BE INSPIRATIONAL? AMBER ROSE THINKS SO…

Late last night while surfing the net I came across some news claiming Amber Rose’s stardom is about to reach new height. Not only is she working on a reality show with VH1 called “Behind Her Shades” but she’s also penning an “inspirational” book. The show will showcase Amber as an open book and depict almost all aspects of her life as well as detailing the opening of her new sunglasses store. As for the upcoming book, Amber claims it to be an inspirational read for all young girls.

“I’m working on writing a book, it’s gonna be an inspirational book. A lot of people don’t know about my life and the people that do a lot of young girls can relate to my past and how I grew up.”



It’s no question Amber has really mastered the art of stretching 15 minutes of fame and has really capitalized. But I couldn’t help but wonder before I went to bed, can hoes really be inspirational? “Hoes” and “inspiration” in the same sentence…sounds more like an oxymoron. Now I’m not blatantly calling Amber Rose a “hoe” but if the shoe fits….well ya know where I’m going with this, lol. But seriously Amber isn’t the first and definitely won’t be the last to capitalize on their sexual image. That’s just the age we live in. Sex sells and there will forever and always be a demand for it. But for Amber Rose to claim to want to inspire young girls…really, inspire them to do what?? That’s the real question. There’s nothing inspirational about tonguing chicks down and bed hoping from one rapper to the next. Now I’m not knocking Amber’s hustle. Get Money! But why target young girls? And why call this upcoming book something of inspiration? If its about how her past and how she grew up and got to where she is today, that sounds more like an autobiography….very far from inspirational. So once again I ask “Can Hoes Be Inspirational?”…you tell me.

  • I’d like to know what makes Amber Rose a “hoe” considering she entered the public eye in a relationship with Kanye West, and now is in a relationship with Wiz Khalifa. Two relationships.

    And she’s not writing a self-help or how-to book. It’s sound like it’s going to be an autobiography. It can be inspirational in that it’s a story of someone who went through adversity and came out the other side okay. Maybe she is going to be dealing with things in the book that we have not heard about– and we’ve heard very, very little about her personal life. And for someone who claims to not be calling her a “hoe”…you called her a hoe pretty frequently in the article.

    Lastly, what’s your age range for young girls? It might inspirational to ages 18-25. I don’t think she was thinking 6-12.

    What makes you say she’s a hoe.
    I watched her Ustream recently where she’s advising young women to find other ways to make money outside of stripping.
    She’s known for beng in long term relationships.
    How is she a hoe??

    Inspiration. She said in her recent ustream that she wants to share with girls how she deals with negativity and move ahead in life.
    She’s experienced bullying and ridicule from a young age, and feels she has enough knowledge to share a positive message for women.
    She also wants to share her views on the importance of strong bonds and friendships with females amongst each other.
    She feels too many women hate on each other.
    She also surround herself around wonderful people.
    Get your facts straight before you go on callin her a hoe.
    Know what the term means.
