STR8 SNITCHIN’: MAXWELL BEEFIN’ WITH JILL SCOTT & ERYKAH BADU?!

Looks like there’s some beefin’ going on the in RnB world, specifically between my all time favorite RnB crooner Maxwell and RnB divas Jill Scott & Erykah Badu. According to the homie Freddyo,



Maxwell has cancelled the rest of his shows because he was not getting along with Jill Scott and Erykah Badu. He apparently was pissed because the ladies consistently go over on their time, each show, when their finish mark is actually 8:30. This limits the time Maxwell can woo the ladies and the amount of panties Maxwell can receive on stage that night. At the last concert, Maxwell snatched a pair of thongs from the stage, and inhaled deeply. He said, “ladies I want to smell it, I want to smell it…” If he doesn’t have the time to smell his thongs, there will be beef backstage. All of Maxwell’s concerts after the NYC show on June 26th have been postponed or canceled.


WHAT?! This sounds like some real diva ishh… I dunno folks but something tells me Maxwell is too just humble to wild out on petty things such as this. This doesn’t sound like a good enough reason to scrap all other tour dates. In addition to this rumored beef, Singersroom reports Maxwell is also considering taking another break. Wait, WHAT?! WHY?! Maxwell just returned to the scene and brought real music back. Why go on another hiatus?


“I don’t know. I like the spotlights and all that, but then I do love the corner store, getting milk, throwing out the garbage, having just a regularness around life,” Maxwell said when asked whether putting out an album or two and taking an extended break is going to become a pattern. “So we’ll see.”


Realtalk I dunno if I could take Maxwell taking another hiatus…we’ve waited too long for his return and now he’s gonna bail on us again? C’mon Maxwell!

  • this is some bs, he is a diva, he is mad cuz jill and erykah feed da audience w/soul food for the mind and soul,top sets and he could not match or top their sets. he needs to get over himself, ever since he cut da hair he has been on some dumb bs 4sho. how is he going to take a break,when a new cd is due real soon, his pr people are stupid why cancel a tour when it would be the best way to promote an upcoming project.

  • I’ve seen both shows in Atlanta, Maxwell with Jill and Maxwell with Erykah. Quite honestly, they both put on a better show tha Maxwell. Their stage presence is simple but more heartfelt. Both ladies had better crowd response. Hell, Erykah’s show was so fire that fans didn’t want her to leave. Erykah’s show started late because of sound issues. His punk azz just mad because these extraordinary ladies move the crowd better than he does. That’s what happens when you disappear for years, others take your crown or better yet your tiara. Stop crying and put on a better show Maxwell.
