Word is Mariah Carey and hubby Nick Cannon are trying to stay true to their New Year’s resolution to have a baby in 2010.

“Mariah and Nick are thrilled at the prospect of finally starting a family together,” a snitch told The National Enquirer. “Mariah feels incredibly blessed to have a solid marriage and a soaring career – but now her primary goal is motherhood.”

And the two are desperate to have a lil’ Nick or lil’ MiMi running around that if Mariah’s eggs have gone bad they already have a plan B.

“If they don’t conceive naturally, then Mariah and Nick are ready to adopt,” adds the snitch. “They have lined up several potential adoption agencies.”

I still can’t believe that they’re still together. Nick is definitely reaping the benefits of being “Mr. Mariah Carey”…now that’s one kept man!
