I definitely respect Tyler Perry for his tremendous achievement but as for his characters like Madea, they are bit “coonish”. Not saying that Spike Lee is on point with his criticism, but those offer something for us to think about. How many times do we have to see this Mammy character and the slap stick comedy in these black films.
But I mean if you think about…Spike Lee tackles hardcore real issues in the community, while Tyler focuses on the light stuff.
