In a recent interview with USA Today, singer Mariah Carey revealed that nowadays she’s in a much better place and credits much of her happiness to her husband of one year, Nick Cannon. Geesh, I’m surprised they’ve lasted this long! Mariah admits that before Nick came into the picture she spent too much time focusing on her career. She says,

“I wasted my time with stuff that wasn’t really real, in my personal life. I was always more focused on my career. But now I have this support system.”

Mariah has a couple projects on her plate including a role in the film Precious which hits theaters Nov. 6th and not to mention her new album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel which hits store shelves tomorrow.

“There’s a little bit of almost every album I’ve done on this new one”, she says. “It’s like I put everything in a blender and made drinks for my friends. They’re festive drinks, though some are bittersweet. I’m at such a good place in my life, and that allows me to be honest. And to enjoy things.”
