Pimpin’ Curly is steaming mad at the media for doing what they do best, blowing things out of proportion. Last month, Fifty Cent was scheduled to take part in “Family Day” aka “40 Day” in his hometown of Jamaica, Queens however amid concerns about safety he was forced to scrap the event at the last minute. Apparently, Fifty poured a lot of his own time and money into making the event a success and was crushed when he learned that the show would not go on. He says,
“Mayor (Michael) Bloomberg and the Governor spoke about it…and spoke positively about the event, because of my motivation and what my intentions were. I went through the trouble of developing this…It’s been a nine-month period that I’ve been working on it. Adding, “But it’s not interesting enough to promote positivity or to promote that someone’s actually attempting to give back to the community in that way. So they (media) promote the fact that I’ve been shot previously not far where the location, and they promote previous activity in that environment that has take place to make it feel like something can happen…I think it slipped their mind that this is an event that was developed and based for kids.”
However, Fifty insists that he will not let affect his efforts to helping children in his hometown of Queens. He adds,
“I won’t let it discourage me from doing things in the community.”
That’s what I’m talking about Fif’! Never allow anyone to take you out of your element!
